The Cyprus Dance Film Festival is the leading festival in Cyprus dedicated to dance film and movement based storytelling, as well as dance photography. It is part of the Cult Experiences Festival, alongside the Cyprus Music Video Festival and the Cyprus Fashion Film Festival, bringing together dance, cinema, music, and visual art into one unified experience.

What Counts as a Dance Film

A screen based work in which dance is the central artistic or narrative element.

This can include:

• Narrative storytelling through movement
• Performance based dance pieces
• Documentary approaches
• Experimental or abstract choreography driven visuals

As long as movement and choreography are the core language of the piece.

Dance Photography (Exhibition + Awards)

Your photographs will be exhibited as part of the official festival photography exhibition, experienced by all attendees during the event.

What We Consider a Dance Photograph

Photography that captures the artistry, movement, and physicality of dancers in performance, rehearsal, or staged settings.

Photography Submission Guidelines

• Each submission may include up to three photographs of the same setting, only one will be considered
• To have all photographs evaluated, submit them separately
• Avoid submitting unrelated images within a single entry

Live Performances

Live performances at the Cult Experiences Festival are curated and limited.

This is not a traditional dance show.
This is a cinematic stage experience.

Artists may perform if they:

• Have submitted a project to one of the festivals
• Are part of an official selection
• Are promoting a new original choreography
• Are invited by the festival

Live Performance Awards include:

• Best Live Performance – Dance
• Best Live Performance – Music
• Best Live Performance – Fashion
• Cult Experiences Performance Award

All performances must feature original work.
