Welcome to CAPFest: Come see the best and latest shorts the Bay has to offer! Meet the upcoming generation of filmmakers who are pushing the standards of film in Bay-Area, California and engage with professionals from the area alongside several screenings held right on UC Berkeley's campus!

In the Bay, we believe filmmaking has the power to unite. With this event, we are aiming to further connect prospective filmmakers with current industry professionals while showcasing the talent the Bay has to offer. With a multifaceted program of film screenings and guest speakers, we aim to create a space where a shared passion for storytelling and innovative narratives can thrive.

When you submit a film in either the "Berkeley" Submission or the "Bay Area Submission", it is automatically considered in all of the following technical & performance categories:

- Best Picture
- Best Directing
- Best Cinematography
- Best Performance
- Best Editing
- Best Screenplay
- Best Sound
- Best Original Music
- Best Production Design and Art

All short films must:

✓ Be finished by the time of submission
✓ Not exceed max. length of 25 min. each
✓ Be in English or with English subtitles

To submit, an applicant must:

✓ be 18 years or older
✓ hold the rights to the piece you are submitting
✓ comply with our ToS

Submission Guidelines:

✓ All submissions will be evaluated and nominated for screening by the official Cap Club Film Festival Committee
✓ We may use clips from the event to promote the Film Festival
✓ Technical issues with the submitted films are fully in the responsibility of the filmmakers.
✓ There are no restrictions to whether your work has already been publicized or made available online
✓ We do not accept trailers, single scenes, or screeners as a submission
✓ We cannot provide refunds after submission
✓ We reserve any right to change the venue, date, or time of the event in case of unforeseen circumstances. All nominees will be informed directly about any changes through email and social media channels.
