Hosted by Butte Film Club, Butte Film Fest is an annual student film festival hosted in Chico, California. The festival was created to showcase the work of students all throughout Northern California, and features primarily short films from seven genres: drama, comedy, action, horror, documentary, music video, and animation.
The first Butte Film Fest was held December 14, 2023 at the historic El Rey Theater in downtown Chico.
The next Butte Film Fest will be held December 13-15, 2024, at several beautiful locations throughout Chico, California. More details coming soon!
At our first Butte Film Fest, the best film winner was awarded a $500 cash prize. At the next Butte Film Fest, cash prizes will be awarded to every one of the top five best films.
