Bury Film Festival is an independent short film festival taking place on 8th July 2026 at The Met, Bury, one of Greater Manchester's most beloved cultural venues.

Founded in 2026, BFF is the first ever film festival in Bury. Created to give emerging and student filmmakers a real public audience in their own community. We believe great stories come from everywhere and that independent film deserves to be celebrated at a local level.

We are looking for bold, honest, human films. Any genre welcome, drama, documentary, comedy, horror, animation, experimental. If it has something to say, we want to see it.
Selected films will be screened at The Met in front of a live audience, with an awards ceremony celebrating the programme on the night. Filmmakers are warmly encouraged to attend and be part of the evening.

BFF also runs pop-up screenings at venues across Bury in the weeks leading up to the main event, giving selected films additional exposure in the community.
