PLEASE READ CAREFULLY: WHILE ALL FILM SUBMISSIONS ARE WELCOME, WE STRONGLY ENCOURAGE PARTICIPANTS TO PRIORITIZE THEMES RELATED TO SPORT AND/OR ART. FILMS THAT CLEARLY ENGAGE WITH THESE TOPICS WILL RECEIVE SIGNIFICANTLY GREATER CONSIDERATION BY THE JURY. PLEASE BE AWARE THAT FILMS WITH NO CONNECTION TO SPORT OR ART ( PARTICULARLY THOSE FOCUSED SOLELY ON MELODRAMA, ROMANCE, FAMILY DRAMA, CRIME, OR GENERAL SOCIAL THEMES ) WILL BE OVERLOOKED DURING THE SELECTION PROCESS.
1. Eligibility
* We accept short, medium-length, and feature films of all genres that deal with sports, movement, performance, or artistic expression.
* The film must be original and must not infringe on copyright or third-party rights.
2. Language and Subtitles
* All films must have subtitles in English.
* We recommend that English-language films include Montenegrin subtitles to increase accessibility for local audiences (this is not manditory but highly respected).
* Subtitles or transcripts are not required for films produced in the Balkans.
3. Submission Format
* Films must be submitted exclusively through the FilmFreeway platform.
* A valid preview link must be provided (preferably Vimeo or YouTube) with a password active until at least September 30, 2025.
* If selected, a high-quality DCP version must be submitted for theatrical screening. Low-resolution files will not be accepted. If you do not have a DCP, MP4/MOV formats are allowed.
* Please do not submit movies over WeTransfer links or any other file sharing service where link expires after some time. We recommend using a service where link stays for a longer period of time.
4. Premiere Status
* Films are accepted regardless of premiere status.
* Films that have already been screened in Montenegro are also eligible.
5. Rights and Permissions
* By submitting, you confirm that you hold all necessary rights to screen the film and its content.
* You grant the festival permission to screen your film during the festival, and to use photos, clips, and promotional materials for marketing purposes (social media, trailers, press, etc.).
6. Selection and Notification
* All submissions are reviewed by the festival's selection committee.
* If your film is selected, you will be contacted via the details provided in your FilmFreeway profile.
* The festival reserves the right to disqualify any film that does not meet technical or content standards (we will contact the authors of the film in case of any technical issues).
7. Filmmaker Participation
* Selected filmmakers are invited to attend the festival in Budva and participate in post-screening discussions, panels, and workshops.
* Limited support for travel and accommodation may be offered depending on the festival’s budget (please regularly check your e-mail and/or this page for more updates on the behalf of this topic).
8. General Terms
* Submission is free of charge.
* The festival is not responsible for any loss or damage to submitted materials.
