Screenplays must be written by women. Writing teams are permitted. It is the right of the Broad View International Film Festival to determine whether a screenplay qualifies.
All screenplays must be submitted in English; those containing dialogue in another language must include an English translation.
Screenplays must be the original work of the entrant(s).
Adaptations or screenplays based on another work are allowed; however, it is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure that they have secured clearance to utilize any copyrighted materials or purchased the necessary film rights (“option”) from the copyright holder(s) to adapt the work.
All entrants retain complete and exclusive rights to their work.
In submitting your screenplay to the Broad View International Film Festival Script Development Program, you agree to the following rules, terms, and conditions:
1. I have read all of the rules, terms, and conditions for the Program. I understand and agree to these rules.
2. I attest that the screenplay being submitted is my original work. If I have utilized copyrighted materials, I have obtained the required legal clearance(s) or permission(s) for their inclusion.
3. I attest the screenplay being submitted does not contain gratuitous violence, sexual violence, or sexual exploitation, or promote hatred of any community. I understand that it is the right of Broad View to define the above and determine whether a screenplay is in violation.
4. I agree to fully indemnify Broad View International Film Festival against any claim that arises from the submission or development of my screenplay.
5. I acknowledge that the idea, concept, or inspiration for my screenplay or those ideas or concepts within it may be similar to or indistinguishable from other submissions, materials, or works already in development by the judges or other entrants.
6. If selected, I agree to allow Broad View International Film Festival to publish my name, the title of my screenplay, and the log-line.
Broad View International Film Festival is committed to raising the profile of women filmmakers, and to uplifting other historically underrepresented groups in all Broad View programming and business practices.
