A former lecturer in Film and Cultural Studies based in Manchester (UK), I have been a creative/commercial independent filmmaker since 2005.
As well as short dramas, music videos and commercial promos, my filmography includes a trilogy of music documentaries called The Beyond Series:
Iceland: Beyond Sigur Ros (2010), Manchester: Beyond Oasis (2012) and Liverpool: Beyond The Beatles (2015).
My debut feature film, 'Nobody Loves You and You Don't Deserve to Exist', is a semi-autobiographical exploration of masculinity, social class, power, morality, identity and storytelling in the North of England.
It took six and a half years to complete and was released on Amazon Prime in May 2022.
Since then it has won 55+ international film awards and nominations, and been critically acclaimed in both the UK and US:
‘The best film about working-class Britain in years ... A political triumph’ - Jacobin (New York)
'A bruising, exhilarating exhibition of British working-class life' - Prospect Magazine (London)
‘A complex and original kind of social surrealism’ - The Morning Star (London)
