Raised on a council estate situated in a former mining town in Nottinghamshire (UK) throughout the 1970s and 1980s, Brett Gregory is a former lecturer in Film and Cultural Studies who has been writing, directing, editing and producing films in Manchester (UK) since 2005. His filmography includes the independent music documentaries 'Iceland: Beyond Sigur Rós' (2010), 'Manchester: Beyond Oasis' (2012) and 'Liverpool: Beyond The Beatles' (2015), as well as his critically acclaimed, multi-award winning working-class feature film, 'Nobody Loves You and You Don't Deserve to Exist' (2022). From June 2023 he occupied the UK Desk (Film and Culture) for the weekly arts and culture radio show, Arts Express, on WBAI 99.5 FM in New York (US). In February 2024 he was then appointed as an Associate Editor (Film, Culture, and Academia) for the UK arts, culture and politics website, Culture Matters. In turn, he is also the founder and editor of Serious Feather, an independent, non-profit review, interview, and discussion website for academics, authors, and artists, with its associated podcast, Serious Feather Arts.
