Raised on a council estate in Nottinghamshire throughout the 1970s and 1980s, Brett Gregory is a former lecturer in Film and Cultural Studies who has been writing, directing and producing films in Manchester since 2005.
His filmography includes the music documentaries Iceland: Beyond Sigur Rós (2010), Manchester: Beyond Oasis (2012) and Liverpool: Beyond The Beatles (2015), as well as his debut feature film, 'Nobody Loves You and You Don't Deserve to Exist' (2022).
From 2023 he has been the UK Desk (Film and Culture) for the weekly arts and politics radio show, Arts Express, on WBAI 99.5 FM in New York where he reviews academic film texts and interviews British film/media academics about their research and publications.
