The Boston International Film Festival was created to celebrate the art of filmmaking and to honor the filmmakers who make it all possible. This is a festival dedicated to rewarding artists for their individual talents and for their creative expression through the medium of film. The festival strives to bring together in Boston local, national and international filmmakers by promoting the world’s most artistic and creative independent and experimental films.

The festival’s goal is to encourage and support the work of worldwide independent filmmakers and to promote their products as an art concept and as a valuable contribution to world understanding. The occasion of a 5 day festival affords a rare opportunity to promote dialogue between filmmakers and the audience in an intimate setting. The Festival Committee also hopes to provide an international cultural platform for screening feature-length, documentary, short and student works as a lasting institution.

  • It was truly an honor to have my film "Becoming Black Lawyers" selected to be screened at this year's Boston International Film Festival. All correspondence was very professional and team members were very responsive to my phone call and emails with questions about the event. The AMC Theater Boston Common was a truly beautiful venue. Everyone I met affiliated with the event were extremely friendly and supportive of my film. As a filmmaker, I enjoyed the Q&A after my screening. I was also surprised to win an award at this prestigious festival, which was icing on the cake - especially as a first-time attendee and filmmaker. I genuinely look forward to participating in future festivals. Thanks again BIFF organizers and programmers for this wonderful opportunity to share my documentary with the world! First class event! Highly recommended!

Everyone at BIFF did an incredible job of making this a very special event for each film. There were super networking events and the two venues were terrific. It was wonderful to be back in person and everyone in my cast and crew loved the event and seeing out movie on the big screen. Kudos to all for all they did. I especially liked the Q&A that they did after every film.
