Boise International Film Festival is an event to bring together the best the region has to offer. Incredible filmmakers, innovative arts and theatre, top notch food and a bustling creative community all make Boise the next best place to launch a festival. Started by film and television industry veterans, who fell in love with the city after moving here from Los Angeles in 2020 during the pandemic, this festival will be sure to draw executives, agents, managers, and other entertainment professionals with it's easy access from Los Angeles. Throughout the four day festival, there is ample opportunity to attend panels, Q&A's and masterclasses taught by some of today's top creatives and deal makers, while experiencing the charm and warmth of this beautiful city.
Oh, and our parties are going to be epic.
We are especially interested in films that have been shot in the Pacific Northwest, and have a special award for Best Film or Short shot in PNW category. We are a festival of discovery, discovery of new voices and faces and celebrating the next generation of film makers and artists.

I truly cannot overstate what a joy it was to attend this festival! I was impressed with everything top to bottom. There was great communication from the festival, so we felt really taken care of before we even arrived. The programming was top-notch: each film I watched showcased a distinct voice and vision and has stuck with me. The events were fun and generous and genuinely good time. I loved connecting with local Idaho filmmakers as well as those who came in from all over the country. Boise itself is a lovely place to visit. We had so much fun hiking and sampling the incredible Basque culinary offerings. The festival venues were spectacular—The Egyptian is easily the coolest theater I've ever been in; the Flicks had such a positive energy and offered a lovely viewing experience. I'm grateful our short IN THE DARK was selected to screen at BFF (I couldn't believe it was only the second year). The festival directors Mark and Christine Holder went above and beyond to make this festival one to watch, and I can't wait to submit to future editions.

  • This was a fantastic festival experience and wildly exceeded my expectations given how young of a fest it is! The communication leading up to the festival was excellent, the PR that they arranged for filmmakers far surpassed what I’ve experienced at most other festivals, and the programming was fantastic. They provided a hotel room in downtown Boise right near the screening venues, which was wonderful. The closing awards gala was a fancy affair that really celebrated filmmakers as well as the arts scene in Boise. The local film community was very welcoming and every Q&A I watched and/or participated in was lively, with lots of great audience participation. Mark and Christine really created a fantastic experience from start to finish. It was one of the best festival experiences I’ve had to date, and I was honored that my short KIND MOTHER was selected to screen. It’s clear this festival has momentum and is only going to grow from here - I’ll definitely be submitting my future work for consideration.

This festival is amazing. I had so much fun, met so many people, and walked away very impressed and I've been to many of the major festivals. Also, Boise is one of the best cities in America. So much to do, see, eat, drink, and love there.

I'm blown away by how well this festival was run. This was the 2nd year but felt like it had been an established event for years. Mark and Christine are really putting their best foot forward with this festival and it really shows. They provided plenty of press opportunities and Boise really showed up to support.

We were fortunate enough to recieve the Best Director For Feature award.
We will definitely be attending next year!

I was truly impressed by the hospitality, organization, and the quality of films showcased this year. Even though it’s a smaller festival, it has such a warm, genuine spirit and I can easily see it growing into something big in the coming years.

Huge thanks to the Boise Film Festival team for making filmmakers feel so welcome and appreciated. It was an honor to have April X included and to receive the Best Feature Film award.
