Blue Cross is a film festival held in Finland which aims to provide a platform for christian filmmakers and storytellers around the world to share their inspiring works and life stories with the Finnish audience and beyond.

The color blue symbolizes peace, serenity & eternity.  The cross has become a universal and timeless  icon symbolizing hope, faith and love based on the life-saving story of our Lord Jesus Christ.   It is also the main element of the Finnish flag.

The christian faith is said to have been brought to Finland sometime between the 10th and the 13th century by the Swedes and the Russians.  Subsequently, diverse christian groups came and spread throughout the country.

Over the years since the great commission due to the subjective and compromising trends in socio-cultural values and religious paradigms, along with the current political influences, the simple and life-saving message taught by the Lord Himself, the apostles and the early believers based on the righteousness and pure life of the promised Christ (Messiah) is slowly and drastically changing.

Blue Cross Film Festival intends to create opportunities and inspire christian filmmakers & storytellers to share and keep making films that will unify and strengthen the universal body of Christ through the simple, pure, timeless and life-empowering gospel of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on screen.

Blue Cross Christian Film Festival is an annual event held in Finland during the summer season.  Finnish summer is known for its beautiful, clean & green nature, gorgeous lakes and forests, enchanting white nights and the longest day in the year (aka Midnight sun). Sometime between June and August is the best time to visit the country, enjoy the cottage holidays, traditional sauna, late-nights swim in the lake or in the ocean and for a city tour of Helsinki.

Finns during the summer are extra vibrant and friendly.  It is a great opportunity to go out, open up conversation and connect with the locals.  There are different christian groups in the capital region.  The festival is a wonderful channel to bring believers from nearby and beyond to watch together inspiring christian films from around the world, encourage and enjoy the fellowship of one another.
