Blue Bird Film Festival(BBFF) is an India-based international film festival Competition with a public Screening Event. This quarterly film festival is held in the heart of the City of Joy, Kolkata. BBFF is committed to discovering and supporting talented writers and directors with a unique, Innovative style and point of view from all walks of life. We want to capture the imagination of audiences and contribute to the vitality of film culture by providing emerging indie filmmakers with the opportunity to show their latest projects along with other ingenious filmmakers from all over the world. writers and directors with a unique style and point of view.

All entries are promoted through our social media and website with a featured page with a synopsis, film stills and trailer.For this purpose, we recommend that projects must be fully entered on FilmFreeway, including film stills, production pictures, downloadable poster, and trailer or teaser. All projects officially selected in each season receive Blue Bird Film Festival laurel and a custom digital certificate. Some of the award-winning films are screened at the Mentioned Venue, and their crews are invited to attend and participate in a public Q&A of Blue Bird Film Festival.
Finally, the most competitive films are invited to join our Annual Live Screening Events.
ANNUAL AWARDS
Based on the highest rates, the pools of quarterly BBFF given during the annual cycle are eligible for nominations for the annual awards. Our judges' committee can decide to nominate other award-winning or finalists projects. All annual nominees are screened also at the Rotary Sadan (Venue can be changed by our authority), during the annual event, which follows the traditional format of annual festivals. At the annual events, award winners will also receive Blue Bird Film Festival Awards official trophy. These trophies can be ordered by any award winner from the quarterly rounds.
Judges gives scores based on the quality and creativity of entries on a performance scale and winning entries are recognized and awarded quarterly at four levels.It can be also given by Honorable Mentions and Outstanding Achievement Awards (special jury mentions).
Some categories or level of awards can have no winners if there are submissions not meeting the requirements.

Please read these Rules & Terms carefully before you submit your project. By submitting your project to a competition at the Blue Bird Film Festival, you expressly acknowledge and agree that you shall be bound by these Rules & Terms.
-Submission fee is non-refundable.
-Films that have been publicly broadcast in India and/or films that are publicly streaming online prior to the 2025 film festival are not eligible.
-More than one entry may be submitted. Each entry must be accompanied by its own online entry and entry fee.
-Please select the right category while submitting to avoid disqualification.
-Films produced in any language must have legible English subtitles for a possible screening during the Annual Public Event which will take place in Kolkata.
-The selection committees’ and juries’ decisions are final.
-The Jury can remove the project from the competition at any time
-All filmmakers under 18 must have a legal guardian submit on their behalf.
Take note that: The BBFF may use images, sounds and excerpts from the films for promotional purposes in all media including the BBFF website.
Submitting your film to the BBFF is not a guarantee of selection. All the official selections, nominees and winners will be listed on our website permanently. Winning projects will receive a trophy, certificate and an exclusive interview will be published in a renowned media house.
The Official Selection status is no guarantee that your project will be screened at the festival. It simply means you can use the festival logo on your poster and our panel has approved your project.
WE DO NOT ACCEPT:
1. Amateur videos.
2. Extremist or propaganda content from religious or political organizations.
3. Projects involving politics/films promoting political agenda.
4. Pornography.
5. Films with a poor production standard (bad sound, lack of subtitles for non-English films, poor resolution).
