Join us for the 27th Annual Black Bear Film Festival!

Black Bear has been welcoming filmmakers for over two decades to share their stories in the beautiful Delaware River town of Milford in the PA/NY/NJ tri-state area at the historic Milford Theater and other notable locations of Milford heritage.

Inspired by a history of filmmaking in the area, the Board of Director's mission for this nonprofit organization is to promote and celebrate independent film, encouraging artistic expression and discussion. We take a special interest in aspiring filmmakers and supporting their growth in the industry by offering opportunities to screen, meet fellow filmmakers, and win recognition for their work.
Our community welcomes filmmakers to speak about their films and interact with audiences during Q&A sessions at the Milford Theater and mingle with film lovers at the Salon presentations that take place a few steps away.

Some special areas of interest for Sunday Salons are community connections with our local Tri*Versity chapter screening LGBTQ+ related films and a focus on conservation and nature issues at the impressive Grey Towers National Historic Site, the home of Gifford Pinchot and the American conservation movement.

This year, we are offering the opportunity to submit films and receive COVERAGE from one of our Board Members, as well as ratings and notes from the entire film committee. Please see our special COVERAGE submission categories for Feature Films and Short Films.

The festival begins on Opening Night on Friday, 10/9 with film screenings all day Saturday and Sunday at the theatre and various Salon locations in town.

Join us for an amazing weekend of film fun in the beautiful town of Milford this fall.

Being part of Black Bear Film Festival was an amazing experience. Although we couldn’t attend due to scheduling conflicts, we were really impressed by the festival’s outstanding support and dedication to both the films and the filmmakers. Their professionalism truly stood out.

I just LOVED being a part of this festival! Well run, beautifully curated, with super enthusiastic helpful people everywhere! It was a real honor to have my short included. And having our lead actress receive an award recognizing her wonderful performance was the icing on what was already a delicious cake. I can't wait to return as an alum!!
