Such love for web series and their creators at this festival! The overall vibe is very energetic and warm, ending with a stunning award ceremony inside the Guggenheim museum. And of course there is the lovely city of Bilbao. Making the trip to visit here is highly recommended.

I truly feel bad writing a negative review however my experience with this festival was pretty awful. My project was selected for their 2021 program but they didn't even play it at the live in-person screening because they messed up somehow. I even had a confirmation, weeks prior, that they received my deliverables - One of which was the entire project translated into Spanish subtitles, (which of course I had to pay someone to do).
When I kindly reached out by email to ask what happened, I was ignored. I sent a 2nd email - also ignored. Hey, I get it. Mistakes happen. But, to just ignore the filmmaker who was selected to participate in your festival? That's just bad business practice. I would have been fine with a simple 'We're sorry, this was an oversight'. Anything. But to not respond, at all?
Also, weeks before the festival, while they were promoting all of the projects on I.G, I happen to notice they never posted mine. When I reached out to check in about posting it, their response was that they received all my materials and not to worry it 'might' be posted next week. It never got posted.
Overall, my experience was not good. I was really excited when I got in because it appeared to be a fun festival that I wanted to be a part of and of course the live screening in Bilbao was very enticing. However, the entire experience was very disappointing.
I wish I never submitted. This review is 100% my true and honest account of my experience. No bueno.
