The Big Picture Film Festival is an opportunity for national, international, and Central IL filmmakers to come together, play their films, and celebrate!

The Big Picture Film Festival is an interactive, walkable film festival hosted in the 7th largest city in Illinois. As a two-day event, filmmakers are invited to explore the city of Peoria through various events hosted by the festival. Integrated within the community, Big Picture films are screened at local businesses and vacant storefronts. Each venue plays films of one genre.

All selected films will receive an "Official Selection" film festival laurel and 2 free wristbands to the walkable film festival.

The best film from each genre will play at a special presentation at the Riverfront Museum. The winners will be announced and receive uniquely designed framed posters and "Best of" film laurels. Additional prizes will also include the People’s Choice Award.

The 2nd annual Big Picture Film Fest will take place the weekend of October 11th-12th.

1. Submission Deadlines:
Submissions will be accepted starting May 1st. Early bird pricing is $10 from May 1st-June 15th. Regular deadline pricing is $20 from June 16th-July 15th. Extended Deadline pricing is $30 from July 16th- August 15th. Student prices may vary.

All selected filmmakers will be notified the week of September 15th.

2. Submission Guidelines:
All films of any genre are accepted. However, films must be presented in English or have English subtitles, if presented in another language. Films can be of any length, up to 20 minutes. Submitted films have been made after January 2017.

Films must also be submitted via online screener ONLY. We do not accept DVDs.

Filmmakers who have been nominated must have a representative attending the festival in order to guarantee their film will play. If they do not attend, their film will still keep its official selection status and the film might play at the Friday night event but there is no guarantee. Filmmakers must also have the rights to use any musical or visual components shown in their film.

3. Submission Fee:
All submissions are to be paid through FilmFreeway platform. The submission fee is non-refundable.

1. If accepted, would this screening be a premiere for your film? If so what kind?

2. Is your film rated MA (above PG13)? If so, please describe why.
(it's ok to enter a film that is rated MA, we just want to make sure to advertise that)

3. If you are a student, what school do you go to and what year are you?

4. Do you live in Central Illinois? (it's ok if you don't!)
