ABOUT BICYCLE FILM FESTIVAL:
BFF screens films from established artists to emerging filmmakers who have a shared passion for bicycles. We celebrate the bicycle in all its human powered forms.

Each year, the programming team selects short and feature length films from around the world.

Documentary, live action, narrative, animation, music video, experimental stories - all are welcomed.

The Bicycle Film Festival (BFF), founded by Brendt Barbur in 2001, is a global celebration of bicycles and sustainable living through film, art, music, and culture. For over 26 years, BFF has toured more than 100 cities worldwide, reaching over one million people, showcasing films, art, and events that highlight the beauty and importance of cycling. BFF has partnered with art institutions like the Sydney Opera House, the Barbican, the Andy Warhol Museum, and the MCA Chicago, as well as cities like Paris, London, and Mexico City.

BFF features a curated selection of films, including documentaries, narratives, and animations, from both award-winning and emerging directors. Our events also include immersive music performances, art exhibitions by world-renowned artists, and culinary experiences ranging from Michelin-star to street food, all reflecting our commitment to sustainability.

With notable artists like Erykah Badu, Kaws, Spike Jonze, Mike Mills, Ai Weiwei and many more, BFF is an iconic platform for cultural exchange. Our panel discussions bring together experts on issues from sustainability to cycling culture, while our events reach millions of people both online and in person.

Join us in celebrating the bike and the global movement toward a sustainable, connected future.

We accept films about cycling, the bicycle, and bike culture in all its human powered forms.

Feature length films are considered 30 minutes and over.

Short films are under 30 minutes.

We accept branded content, however, credits of talent and crew should be included.
