The BBIFF is a monthly live screening film festival with an annual mega event held in India's City of Joy, Kolkata. It is a Progressive Film Movement that aims to provide a platform for aspiring filmmakers and celebrate cross-cultural understanding through international film. A team of film industry specialists judges all projects on a high level of merit and inventiveness.

In addition to the "Winners" for each category, there are "Finalists" and "Honorable Mentions".

We rate all of the officially selected projects on IMDb.

Awards & Prizes

Monthly winners are immediately eligible to enter the Annual Awards competition. Each category will have a winner chosen by the jury board, who will then receive our official trophy at the yearly event.

The BBIFF official laurel and a personalized certificate of success will be awarded to all projects that are officially selected in each monthly round, contingent on their ultimate standing in the competition.

On FilmFreeway, the notification date refers to the day on which the winners of each monthly round are announced.

Rules & Terms

By submitting the project, the submitter consents to the following:

1. The film must have English subtitles, unless English is the spoken language.
2. Film posters, stills, teasers, and trailers may be used by BBIFF for promotional purposes; however, the entire film will never be released.
3. There is no way to contest the jury's verdict, which will be definitive.
4. Although a film cannot be withdrawn once it has been submitted, the festival director has the discretion to disqualify any film for specific reasons.
5. Filmmakers and producers assume full responsibility for copyright concerns pertaining to music, scripts, and other artistic and technical elements of their work when they submit their work to BBIFF.
6. At monthly events, only the season's winning projects will be screened. (Venue : MQXT, Time: 12 PM - 4 PM)
7. At annual events, all the yearly winning projects will be screened. (Venue : King's Landing, Time: 12 PM - 8 PM)
