Bernardo Mata is an attorney who wrote his first story at the age of 7. He has ventured into cinema as a director, producer and screenwriter, making fiction short films such as “A tale about emptiness” (2024), “Anthropozen” (2023), “Do you know what to do with silence?” (2019), “Mox Biriñaque” (2016), “Root-soul” (2012). He has participated in film festivals such as Shnit Worldwide Film Festival, Costa Rica International Film Festival CRFIC and Tokyo Lift Off Film Festival. Mata has written scripts and short stories; one of them received the “Young Creation, First Finalist” award in the contest organized by Editorial Costa Rica in 2012. He is passionate about sound design and music, and has composed the score for his short films in collaboration with professional musicians.
