Awards and Prizes at the Berlin Indie Spotlight Film Festival

The Berlin Indie Spotlight Film Festival is dedicated to recognizing and celebrating outstanding talent in the film industry. We are pleased to offer a range of awards and prizes to honor the exceptional work of filmmakers.

• Best Feature Film

• Best Original Screenplay

• Best Animated Short/Feature

• Best Experimental Film

• Best Documentary

• Best Director

• Best Male Role

• Best Female Role

• Best Cinematic Innovation

• Best Cinematography

• Best Film Poster

Certificates and Recognition:

All films that are officially selected for the festival will receive a special Certificate of Official Selection. In addition, films that stand out will be awarded the prestigious Award Winner status, along with a certificate to commemorate their achievement. We also recognize notable works with an Honorable Mention status, providing filmmakers with further acknowledgment of their contributions.

Special Awards:

During our summer event, Award Winners will have the opportunity to receive additional special awards, further highlighting their achievements and contributions to the film community.

Rules & Terms

Berlin Spotlight Film Festival Rules:

1. All submitted films must include English subtitles.

2. By entering your film, you consent to the use of excerpts (including trailers, teasers, posters, and stills) for promotional activities.

3. Submissions must be original works created by the entrant, ensuring no infringement on copyrights or rights of third parties. Participants must confirm they have secured all necessary copyright permissions for music, sound, and images used in their films.

4. Entry fees are non-refundable, and no fee waivers will be granted.

5. Filmmakers may submit multiple entries, and each film can be considered in several categories.

6. We may promote select films by sharing trailers, teasers, posters, and production stills.

7. The festival organizers retain the right to withhold any or all prizes at their discretion.

Submissions will not be accepted for:

• Content that promotes extremist views or propaganda from religious or political groups.

• Films that engage with political themes or advocate for political agendas.
