BENT Sacramento LGBTQ Film Festival is proud to be launching our 30th festival which will highlight LGBTQ+ stories from Sacramento and around the world. The festival will take place Saturday - Sunday, October 9th - 10th, 2021.
Final submission date is August 20th, 2021.

The following guidelines govern submissions for the Bent Sacramento LGBTQ Film Festival. Please read these guidelines carefully and follow all directions for submission.

BENT Queer Film Fest is a lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ+) film festival. All submissions must be relevant to that community or your entry will be disqualified. Please do not submit any films without clear LGBTQ content.
*Preview submissions must be submitted via secure online screener (e.g. vimeo.com with password), or through a secure online link via FilmFreeway. Online submissions are handled through FilmFreeway via a secure online link of your film (uploaded films must be in their entirety; trailers will not be considered). If accepted, you will be contacted to provide a final screening copy on one of the accepted formats. 
*Please completely fill out the FilmFreeway Entry Form. A separate Entry Form is required for each film being submitted.
*All music and other copyrighted material used in films must be properly licensed.
*All films must be in English or subtitled in English.
*There are screening fees required to submit to BENT Film Fest paid through FilmFreeway.
*Our submission period is from March 31, 2021 – August 20th, 2021.
*If you are unable to submit via FilmFreeway, please contact michael@bentfilmfest.org.
*Films that are available to the public via VOD, have played in Sacramento (theatrically or featured in another Sacramento film festival) are not eligible.
*Additional materials will be requested once your film has been selected: jpegs, synopsis, posters, film clips, etc.
All selected entries do hereby grant BENT Film Fest the right to use footage, stills, and/or titles and information from the film for promotional purposes to include, but not limited to, cable, TV, Internet, radio and print sources.

    It was great to be included in this years festival. There were some great shorts. I wish there would’ve been a virtual Q&A, or more interaction. Still, I’m grateful for the inclusion

    hi Martin, I wish there was more interaction as well. I love Q&As! But not knowing how many people will actually participate was a concern. We did one for a film earlier in the year and there were 8 people, 5 of whom were festival board members. We did do one on Sunday 10/11, for 'Surviving The Silence', with only 15 attendees. I was expecting more because of the local connection. If we have to be virtual again next year, we will definitely do more. We did learn some lessons this year. Please keep us in mind for any future projects. We will start accepting submissions in February. Thank you! Michael
