The “Alight in Beeston Pilot Light Night Festival” happens on the 29th January 2022. Beeston is a town bursting with creative ideas from a leading music festival, a thriving arts and craft community, and, of course, it is home to the internationally recognized Beeston Film Festival, and we are very proud to support this innovative event.

This pilot light festival will consist of many exhibits and performances including a live UV spray painting under black light, motivational neon lightwork exhibits and trees and murals will light up the town, as well as the art film exhibition the Beeston Film Festival is facilitating.

The venue for the Beeston Film Festival alight edition will be the St John the Baptist Church at the heart of the town. This traditional, ornate, and uplifting venue, will host our first film art festival.

For one night only we will look to fill the church with film art. We are looking for submissions under 10 minutes long, that express the abstract, the emotional, the aesthetic, man's essence even. It will be a collection of films bereft of narrative, limited dialogue, but filled with potent visual and sonic landscapes to fill the church and our imaginations.

Success make this a cornerstone of an amazing light festival caring in the heart of our town. Please bless us with your submissions and get in touch if you have any questions.

Had the privilege of being able to attend the festival and it was wonderful. This event was part of Light Night in Beeston which had lots of fab things happening, this in turn created a really fun buzz. The event was really well attended and I loved seeing the other awesome films which were part of the programme as well. After a long time of not really fully experiencing events because of reasons beyond my control this was really special.
