"Mi Primer Festival" is an International film festival for children from 2 to 12 years. My First Film Festival features over 100 films in a total of 21 screenings. In short, MPF is a film festival that showcases both different techniques and formats and the creativity of artists from all around the world.

The international competition of SHORT FILMS for children will include 3 programmes:

- International Short Competition for children over 2 years old
- International Short Competition for children over 4 years old
- International Short Competition for children over 7 years old

The international competition of FEATURE FILMS will include one programme of films, with a maximum of 8 titles.

1) Jury’s award to the best short film for children aged 4 to 7 – 500 €
2) Jury’s award to the best short film for children aged 7 to 12 – 500 €
3) Public’s award to the best short film for children aged 2 to 4 – 300 €
4) Public’s award to the best short film for children aged 4 to 7 – 300 €
5) Public’s award to the best short film for children aged 7 to 12 – 300 €
6) Jury Award to the best Long Feature Film – 4000 €
7) Public Award to the best Long Feature Film – 1000 €

SHORTS MOVIES:

- Only works released during the last 2 years will be accepted.

- The works shall be animation or feature short films or parts of a series that can be judged separately with a duration of up to 15 minutes.

- The following formats will be accepted for competition: DCP, HD files o Blu-rays.

- Priority will be given to films without dialogues or that have short voice overs. If there are dialogues in languages that are not English, French, Spanish or Catalan, participants will send the text translated into English. It will be the organizer’s responsibility to subtitle or dub the film.

- All participants will have to fill in the Application Form, provide 2 stills of the film with a minimum resolution of 1500 pixels (9cm - 300 dpi), together with a copy of the work through an online screening or download system.

- Copies of the works must be delivered by 31st of May 2024. All selected works will receive a notification before the first week of September. The final decision taken by the jury concerning the winning works will be communicated in December.

- The works shall have to be sent for screening in the best quality format available. Preferably, the film should have a minimum resolution in HD of 1920 x 1080 pixels, in a progressive (not interlaced) format.

- Screening copies should be sent by 20th of September 2024 through an online download system.

- Competing films will be judged by the following juries:
a. Joint official jury of 3-4 professionals specialised in cinema and 3-4 children.
b. The public, formed by the spectators of the festival.

- The movies participation in the different short film competition sections implies their exhibition in the different venues of the festival, including the competitive section screening in other towns, between November 2024 and July 2025, in non-commercial circuits such as public libraries, cinema clubs or civic centres.

- The applicant gives consent to the use of parts of the competing films as part of the festival’s promotion in all its media.

LONG FEATURE FILMS:

- Only works released during the last 2 years, and not screened in Barcelona movie theatres, will be accepted.

- The works shall be animation or feature short films, specifically produced for young audience from 3 to 10 years old.

- If there are dialogues in languages that are not English, French, Spanish or Catalan, participants will send the text translated into English. If the movie doesn’t count on a distribution in Spain, it will be the festival’s responsibility to subtitle or dub the film. If the movie does count on a distribution company for the Spanish territory, screening copy will be required already dubbed at least into Spanish and, if possible, also in Catalan.

- The following formats will be accepted for competition: DCP, HD files o Blu-rays.

- All participants will have to fill in the Application Form, provide 2 stills of the film with a minimum resolution of 1500 pixels (9cm - 300 dpi), together with a screener of the work through an online screening system (like Vimeo). We do NOT accept links to download long feature films screeners from FTP servers or downloading websites like WeTransfer or My Air Bridge.

- Copies of the works must be delivered by 15th of July 2024. All selected works will receive a notification before the first week of September. The final decision taken by the jury concerning the winning works will be communicated in December.

- Copies to be used for the screenings at the festival have to be sent in the best quality format available, in Blu Ray or DCP. Preferably, the film should have a minimum resolution in HD of 1920 x 1080 pixels, in a progressive (not interlaced) format.

- These screening copies should be sent by 20th of September 2024.

- The author, producer or distributor who inscribes his film declares to be the owner, to have acquired, or to make a legitimate use, of all the contents of the film and its copyright. The festival is not responsible for any claim resulting from copyright claim for the public display of films containing protected material.

- The applicant gives consent to the use of parts of the competing films as part of the festival’s promotion in all its media.
