A celebration of short film shot on smartphone will take place this October as part of the Ballina Fringe Festival. Now in it's 9th year, Ballina Fringe Festival is a celebration of word, film, art, music and community in the north west of Ireland.
As part of the film festival we are inviting film makers from around the world who create short films on smartphones to submit entries from 1 to 10 minutes on the subject of 'Resilience'. Open to film makers of all ages and nationalities based in Europe, from first time to professionals as long as your film is shot entirely on a smartphone, our vision is to create a a level playing field for film makers where talent, quality and creativity are paramount and stories from around the world and backgrounds are told.

Ballina Fringe Festival 2026 takes place 2nd to 11th October in Ballina, Co. Mayo, Ireland.
On the banks of the River Moy, in the heart of Ballina, creativity collides with the unexpected.
