We are happy to announce the 11th edition of BUZZ International Film Festival, running August 14th - September 11th 2026, in Buzau, Romania.

WE ONLY ACCEPT FILMS FROM EUROPE AND ISRAEL.
BUZZ - Buzau International Film Festival, now on its 10th year running, is an annual international film festival dedicated to film makers from Europe, including Israel.
We love European films and we have become home to creative, powerful and entertaining stories so we wish to keep sharing them with the world.
We seek films that entertain, inform, create defining stories and break conventions.
Our goal is to showcase and promote these stories and further shed a positive light on our region and its creativity. Either feature films, short films, student films or documentaries, they can all find their place at BUZZ IFF.
We look forward to presenting your films to the public between August 15th and September 13th 2025 in the beautiful county of Buzau, Romania.
To make the audiences’ and your experience memorable, the festival will include panels, parties, special industry events and, of course awards.

Awards & Prizes

Our 11th edition will feature awards and / or cash prizes for the following sections:

Long BUZZ trophy - BEST FEATURE FILM (European)
Short BUZZ trophy - BEST SHORT FILM (European)
Real BUZZ trophy - BEST DOCUMENTARY FILM (European)
Student BUZZ Award - BEST STUDENT FILM (European)
Kids BUZZ - BEST CHILDREN’s feature (international).

Rules & Terms

The deadline for submissions is June 20th, 2026, 23.59 EET (GMT +2)
We only select films from Europe and Israel.

PLEASE READ THE GUIDELINES CAREFULLY AND MAKE SURE YOUR PROJECT IS ELIGIBLE FOR BUZZ IFF.
WE ONLY ACCEPT FILMS FROM EUROPE AND ISRAEL and worldwide children’s films - only feature projects.
PLEASE NOTE THAT IF YOUR COUNTRY OF PRODUCTION IS LISTED AS ANYTHING BUT a European country for feature, documentary, short and student projects, our selection team will NOT CONSIDER THE FILM and it will be disqualified!
By submitting to BUZZ International Film Festival, you guarantee that you have full rights and authority to submit the film to the festival.
Please make sure your film was completed after Jan 1st 2025. Older submissions will not be considered.
Please submit your film via FilmFreeway and / or directly, on buzz-iff.com, using our e-mail address competition@buzz-iff.com.
Only complete entries are eligible and will be considered for festival presentation.
Complete entries include:
Online screener with English subtitles
Completed submission form.
Digital press kit – minimum 2 hi-resolution jpeg stills from the film
Brief film synopsis.
Each entry must be a separate submission.

!!!PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT the festival does not pay any screening fees to submitted films for the competition. By submitting your film to BUZZ IFF you waiver any any and all screening fees!!!

Works in progress are not eligible, the entries will be analyzed as they are received.
If your film is selected as an official submission, the cost of shipping hard copies of festival screeners to the Festival must be paid by the entrant (although we prefer online submissions of screening copies).

Entrant confirms and warrants required legal authority to submit the entry into the Festival and to use all music, images and content in the entry. Entrant will allow usage of clips from the entry for promotional use on television, radio, in print, and at live Festival events.
The undersigned shall indemnify and hold harmless BUZZ International Film Festival from and against any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney’s fees, and costs of the court) which may be incurred by reason of any claim involving copyright, trademark, credits, publicity, screening, and loss of or damage to the materials entered.

The Festival does not pay screening fees for projects selected to compete in the official sections.
Due to the large number of submissions, we are not able to provide personalized feedback for every project that is submitted at this point.

    Unfortunately, I had the same disappointing experience as other reviewers of this festival. After our film was selected, we contacted them several times with no answer. Weeks later, they replied saying they had contacted us, which was NOT true as they never emailed us, to say that since we didn´t reply to them, they didn't screen our film in the end. I find very sad they cover their lack of organisation with lies. I hope they get better in the future and that they stop wasting people's time. I will never again submit to this festival.

    After I received the FILMFREEWAY selection notification for our film DIVERSION I contacted them on the only email I had for them, the one linked to their FILMFREEWAY account, but there was no reply. As a result, our film was never participated in the festival. Also, they have no website. Am sorry I don't have anything positive to say about this festival

    Very disappointing, very bad communication, and unprofessional. We received the FILMFREEWAY selection notification for 2 of our films and answered immediately, introducing them to the films' teams. During weeks our teams contacted them on the only email we got from them, linked to their FILMFREEWAY account, the same email registered as well on their social medias. Found out weeks after that they contacted us with a gmail personal address that was stuck in our spam. They basically sent 1 email asking for the material and a second one announcing that they deselected the films because they didn't receive our material, while during weeks we were trying to reach out to them on their main email. The director told me they don't consult their main email address, basically the email address of the festival, once they select the films. WTF???

    Hi, since you also contacted us by telephone and we discussed the situation at length, we are going to reply here, also: we have sent the same e-mail of selection to your company as we to all the others, from our selection team. We also sent a reminder, which was also ignored. We also sent a third e-mail, about disqualifying the films, once the date had passed and no answer was received.
    We will also mention that we explained this in detail on a call with your representative, who somehow found the contact you say were not correct.
    We are sorry that you could not be a part of the festival, but our rules are the same for everyone, and the 50+ filmmakers that were part of BUZZ IFF 2024 followed them completely.
    We welcome your films at any time! Thank you for your review.
