The Bread and Roses Film Festival is thrilled to be back for its second year! Taking place once again in the beautiful, historic town of Asbury Park, NJ, the festival runs from October 18th to October 20th, 2024.
BRFF is proudly led by an all-female team and is fully curated with the assistance of an all-female panel of judges. We are dedicated to supporting, elevating, and celebrating the brilliant and talented women making magic behind the camera.
BRFF welcomes all filmmaking levels from students to first-time to experienced filmmakers. So don't be shy and submit!

Non-Profit Mission:
BRFF fully supports an equitable and inclusive environment both on and off screen and our main focus is to showcase films that are written and/or directed by women, as female voices have long been (and continue to be) on the sidelines of mainstream cinema. Absolutely everyone is welcome to attend, volunteer, and support us in any way.
BRFF is an officially sponsored project of Precipice Collective, a New Jersey based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
Fees, Waivers, and Passes:
BRFF entrants are required to pay the submission fee in order to be considered for the festival, as these fees directly support various festival operating costs, which are significant. Therefore, submission waivers cannot be granted for any reason.
Accepted films will be provided two all-access passes to the festival - any additional tickets or passes will need to be purchased at regular price. Also, in order to keep the festival as affordable as possible, we are unable to provide screening fees. Thank you for your understanding!
Films submitted to the Bread & Roses Film Festival also enter competition for a chance to win “best of” in respective categories. Award winning films are then eligible to be broadcast on Asbury Park Television as part of the “Bread & Roses Presents” screening series. The public broadcast status of these award-winning films in turn may make them eligible for certain award categories within the New York chapter of the Regional Emmys.
Rules and regulations apply to both APTV and regional EMMY eligibility, and it will be the responsibility of the filmmakers to further pursue and apply for such opportunities, should they be eligible based on their BRFF award status.
