This is an official call for submissions to the BIPOC Pop Animation Festival, which will be held in person in Austin, Texas in March 2024. We seek innovative, original projects, by BIPOC creatives. All films submitted for consideration must be new; they cannot have been featured on television or in theaters.
(a) All entries will be pre-screened for eligibility by a selection committee, however, not all entries will be scheduled.
(b) Entrants are responsible for obtaining any necessary licenses, royalties, release forms, clearances, and permits necessary to present their work. BIPOC Pop is not responsible for any claim involving copyright, trademark, credits, or royalty infringement related to the work.
(c) Films can be in any language. The plot must be Latino-themed and/or at least 1 principal filmmaker (producer, writer, director) must be of BIPOC origin. Films must be complete. No incomplete or works in progress will be accepted.
(d) ONLY submissions via FilmFreeway will be accepted. No late submissions past the late deadline will be accepted.
(e) A filmmaker is not required to attend the festival for their work to be accepted. If your film is accepted to the festival, we will notify you via email with instructions for press materials and exhibition copies. We will also provide you with registration details if you wish to attend the screening of your film.
(f) BIPOC Pop does not have the capacity to reimburse any fees associated with the submission process. BIPOC Pop reserves the right to disqualify a submission, without refund of any kind, for any number of reasons, including a film's change of eligibility status post-submission.
(g) For the purpose of this festival, Animated Features must be +1 hour; Animated Shorts must be 30 minutes or less.
