1. Organization
The Busan International AI Film Festival (BIAIF) is presented and hosted by the Busan Cinema Center.

2. Goal
The BIAIF has set the following goals to ensure that AI technology contributes to the evolution of film art:
- Encourage the creation of innovative film art using AI.
- Promote the advancement of AI technology for movies.
- Foster the collective growth of AI-based film-related industries.
- Provide a forum for constructive discussions on the use of AI technology.

3. Festival Dates
The Busan International AI Film Festival is scheduled to take place from December 4 to 6, 2025, at the Busan Cinema Center, though the dates are subject to change.

4. Program (International Non-Competition Section)
In the International Non-Competition section of the Busan International AI Film Festival, submitted works will be evaluated by a panel of expert judges. Selected films will be officially screened in this section. At the discretion of the festival, additional programs beyond the International Non-Competition section may be created.

[International Non-Competition]
Submitted works will be evaluated by a jury panel composed of film and AI experts. Selected films will be screened in a non-competitive section in which no prizes or rankings are awarded. (However, the Audience Award will be determined through official voting conducted during the festival.)

5. Submission
① Submission Guidelines
Entrants must complete all required information on the submission page of the BIAIF (hereinafter referred to as "the Festival").
A confirmation email will be sent upon completion.
② Submission Films
- Films must utilize AI technology either fully or partially.
- Entrants must provide a description of the AI technology used.
- Films for judging must be privately uploaded to an online video service (e.g., YouTube, Vimeo). Entrants must submit the URL and password for access.
- If the film contains dialogues, English subtitles must be included
- The screener for judging must be valid until November 30, 2025.
- The version of the film submitted for judging must be identical to the version screened at the festival. Any edits made after submission must be reported to the festival.
③ Entry Fee
There is no entry fee for submission to the festival.
④ Submission Period
The submission period is from July 16 to September 7, 2025,
23:59:59 (KST)
⑤ Year of Production
Submitted films must have been produced after August 2024.
⑥ Running Time
The minimum runtime must be 3 minutes.

7. Copyrights
- Entrants must secure all copyrights and portrait rights related to their submission prior to submitting it, and are legally responsible for any issues that arise from these rights.
- Entrants must ensure they do not infringe upon any copyrights or portrait rights associated with the videos, music, characters, etc. All such issues must be resolved before submission.
- The festival does not individually verify the copyrights of submitted films and is not responsible for any legal issues arising from copyright infringements.
- If any legal issues related to copyrights or portrait rights arise before, during, or after the festival, the festival reserves the right to to cancel the selection and reclaim any granted support.

8. Selection of Films
① Selected films
- Selected films will be determined based on the jury's evaluation.
- By providing the screening grant, the festival obtains the right to use
the selected films in accordance with official regulations.
- The list of selected films will be announced in September 2025 via
the BIAIF website and social media channels, and individual
notifications will be sent to the submitters by email or other means.
② Judging Criteria
The judging criteria will be based on a comprehensive evaluation of
factors such as the completeness of the work and the effective use
of technology. Detailed judging results will remain confidential. If no submissions
meet the appropriate standards in any category, some or all films
may not be selected for screening.
③ Withdrawal and Cancellation of Selection
Selection may be canceled at the festival's discretion under the
following circumstances:
- Incomplete or false information provided in the submission.
- Legal issues concerning plagiarism, copyright, portrait rights, rental rights, or other rights.
- An entrant submits more than one film.
- Actions that damage the festival's reputation or cause social controversy.
- Failure to respond to the festival's request or notification via email within 48 hours or failure to respond after two contact attempts.

9. Submission of Screening Materials (※ For Selected Films Only)
The entrant must submit the consent form and the following
materials by the date specified by the festival.
① Entrant Information
- Copy of the entrant’s ID and bank account information
(for the deposit of the grant)
- Director’s photo
- Director’s filmography (including an English version)
② Film Information
- Three still images from the film
- Film trailer (within 30 seconds)
- Film synopsis (including an English version)
- Credit information
③ Screening(Print)
- The screening version must be identical to the one submitted for judging.
- Films with dialogues in languages other than English (including Korean) must submit a screening version with English subtitles.

· Submit a screening version with English subtitles (excluding English dialogue).
· Formats: DCP or MOV (DCP recommended).
· Resolution: 1920x1080 / 1998x1080 / 2048x858 or other resolutions of HD quality or higher.

* The film festival holds the copyright to Korean subtitles produced
by the festival

9-1. Use of selected films (※ For Selected Films Only)
- The "films for screening" are publicly shown and screened at venues and online platforms operated by the film festival by the right to use "films for screening"(8-1)
- Screening times are determined according to the schedule arranged by the festival.
- Information related to the films for screening, including the films themselves, can be utilized for the festival's promotional materials such as print, website, social media, newspapers, broadcasts, and articles, etc.
- Even after the conclusion of the festival, selected films and related
information may be edited and uploaded to promotional channels
operated by the Busan Cinema Center and the festival (e.g.,
YouTube, social media).

9-2. Shippng Instruction(※ For Selected Films Only)
The screening copy of film should be uploaded to the designated online website in principle. In unavoidable cases, external hard drive(USB) is also possible. However, the entrant is in charge of the shipping costs, while the festival pays the return shipping costs of the copies after the end of the festival.

10. General Regulations
-The festival assumes that the entrant has completed all necessary procedures with the distributor, agency, and producer of the submitted film and is considered to have understood and agreed to all the above regulations.
- All of the above regulations become effective as soon as the entrant signs and submits (registers) the application form to the festival.
- The festival has the authority to make decisions on matters not explicitly specified in these regulations.
- In the event of natural disasters or social crises, the above regulations may be adjusted through mutual agreement based on the situation.
