Welcome to the BHP: #ScreenDatNight Short Film Competition! Founded by ‘Insecure’ alum Jean Elie, our goal is to find up-and-coming filmmakers within the BIPOC and LGBTQ communities that are committed to telling stories with passion, drive and that challenges the status quo. This will be a great opportunity to meet and have your work be seen by industry professionals, network executives and also get a CASH PRIZE! We highly encourage filmmakers who have premiered their shorts or pilot presentation at other festivals to submit.
We are looking for:
Genre-bending content that are grounded in real-world problems similar to our alumni creator behind projects like Suicide by Sunlight, The Fly, and DISPEL.
The ScreenDatNight Short Film Competition will take place on October 21, 2025 in Los Angeles. SEMI-FINALISTS will be uploaded on the BHP Patreon page where friends and Woomies are encouraged to VOTE! Voting will end October 13th.
On September 24th, Jean Elie and a special guest will host an IG Live Watch Party to watch the selected films with the community!
After the community votes, the TOP FIVE FINALISTS will be notified on October 17th, and their films will be screened LIVE at ScreenDatNight.
The Grand Prize Winner will be announced LIVE at the event.
