Season III of the Autumn Sun HBCU Invitational is upon us and we want YOUR film to showcase the best cinematic talent from across the HBCU landscape!

In addition to the introduction of Best Narrative & Best Non-Narrative to the Title Honors category, this year will also institute the eligibility of Cinedance films for festival consideration.

Rules & Terms

-Participation is open to all undergraduate and graduate students enrolled at any HBCU during the 2023-2024 academic year. (Fall Graduates Included!)

-Films are eligible ONLY if an HBCU student is in a principal role as either the Director, Producer or Screenwriter. (At this time music videos and vlogs are NOT permissible.)

-Registration is MANDATORY. Submissions are password protected.
-Deadline for registration is May 6, 2024.

-Participants are allowed to submit more than one entry. Each film must be accompanied by its own entry.

-VIEWER DISCRETION warnings must be applied to any submissions containing nudity, violence, language and other suggestive themes.

-Films can not exceed a runtime of 45:00.

-For the best quality, films should be submitted with a 16:9 aspect ratio.

-While not mandatory, we strongly advise those who can to utilize closed captioning. Accessibility for the viewer is always a priority.

-Films produced in languages other than English must have legible English subtitles.

-Selected films will be asked to provide digital stills.
