Asian Comedy Fest and The Rizzle App are seeking submissions from comedic acts featuring Asian/Pacific Islander creators from all over the world!

Upload your comedic scripted/unscripted series to Rizzle in 3 vertical, 60-second episodes with #ACF2021 to be eligible.

The top 10 series will be streamed as official selections during the virtual show on May 27, 2021. The deadline to submit your 3-minute series is April 26th, 2021.

Entry into the contest constitutes your acceptance of these Official Rules.

1. Download the RIZZLE app — create an account and agree to Rizzle terms of service.

2. Create an Asian Comedy Fest submission consisting of three 1-minute episodes - Can be scripted/unscripted, sketch, musical, magic, whatever as long as it's funny!

3. Use the Hashtag #ACF2021 in the caption/description to be eligible.

4. Contest opens March 29, 2021 3pm (EST) and closes on April 26, 2021 at 11:59pm (PST). Submissions will be judged by an Asian Comedy Fest panel and 10 finalists will be chosen to be aired to kick off the Asian Comedy Fest digital show on May 27th. The top 5 finalists will receive cash prizes with the grand prize winner taking home $1000(USD) provided by Rizzle.

Eligibility:

Entrants must be 18-years-old or older.

Entrants must identify as Asian/Pacific Islander.

Entrants are responsible for obtaining all rights and releases for any additional media used in their submission including all performers, video, audio or music clips.

FAQ and Exclusivity and Usage terms and rights:

You always retain the intellectual property rights to your concepts. As with most platforms, Rizzle retains rights to use, but not ownership of, the vertical version of your work. Unless you are vertically reformatting past work deemed “non-exclusive,” all new, original work will be deemed exclusive and you may share the vertical version of your work with the Rizzle watermark for a 6 month period.

Will I be paid for submitting work?

After submitting your 3-ep series, the content team will evaluate all submissions and award monetization, additional series orders, and promotion in-app & on social media for qualifying entries.

Marketing rights:

For a period of 12 months, we may use your work within ads promoting our platform, should we so choose.

Can I use copyrighted audio or video in my entry?

Please refrain from posting content containing copyrighted material. Your post may be auto-removed in this case.

Do all my episodes have to be 1 minute long?

Episode length can vary, as long as you submit at least three episodes. Best practices indicate episode length of at least 0:40.

Who is eligible to submit to the Rizzle Contest?

This contest is open to anyone who identifies as Asian/Pacific Islander worldwide, that is 18 years of age or older. English subtitles are encouraged for non-English language content for the consideration of the judging panel process.

Can I make more than 1 series? Can I make more than 3 episodes?

You can make as many series and as many episodes as you like! We will be evaluating the first 3 eps of each series for quality, watchability, and compact, captivating storytelling.

What is the level to which I can go in terms of creative freedom and censorship?

We do not censor, but given the broad audience on Rizzle, PG-13 is the overall guideline.

Hate speech/ racial epithets may never be used. Use your best judgment. If a level of sexual content, violence or speech would realistically justify an R rating, please creatively consider alternatives. We recommend you bleep any F-bombs.

RELEASES:

By entering the Rizzle ACF Contest, Entrant agrees to release and hold harmless the Released Parties from all claims, liabilities, or damages caused or claimed to be caused, in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, in connection with participation in this contest or acceptance or use of any prize package by Rizzle in accordance with these Official Rules, the administration of the contest, the operation of the web site or the Released Parties’ use of any of the rights granted herein. The Released Parties assume no responsibility for the conduct of any Entrant or the responses of anyone appearing in any Entry.
