Arab International Film Festival of Australia (AIFFA)
The Arab International Film Festival of Australia (AIFFA) is an international film festival dedicated to showcasing powerful and authentic stories from the Arab world, while fostering cultural and creative exchange with Australia and the global filmmaking community.
Based in Australia, AIFFA provides a curated platform for Arab filmmakers, emerging voices, and established talent to present their work to international audiences, industry professionals, and cultural institutions. The festival celebrates diverse perspectives and films that reflect the social, cultural, and artistic richness of Arab cinema.
AIFFA is presented in collaboration with the International Film Festival of Australia (IFFA), strengthening its global reach and industry integration. Through this collaboration, selected trailers and short films are made available for viewing via IFFA’s official YouTube channel(https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCO2xJ6Cw1-5o1iolIJtO4yQ), enhancing visibility and providing valuable international exposure for participating filmmakers.
AIFFA is more than a screening platform. The festival integrates film screenings, workshops, mentorship programmes, masterclasses, industry networking, and youth development initiatives, designed to support filmmakers at every stage of their creative journey. Through this approach, AIFFA aims to build long-term pathways for international exposure, collaboration, and professional growth.
The festival promotes cultural dialogue and cross-border collaboration, encouraging connections between Arab filmmakers, Australian creatives, and the wider international film industry. AIFFA seeks to create meaningful opportunities for talent development, co-production, and global circulation of Arab cinema.
AIFFA welcomes feature films, documentaries, short films, student films, and experimental works that reflect Arab identities, stories, and creative expression. Submissions from filmmakers of Arab origin worldwide, as well as international films engaging with Arab themes, are encouraged.
The Arab International Film Festival of Australia is a platform for dialogue, discovery, and cinematic excellence — connecting Arab stories to the world through the power of film.
