1. FECHA Y LUGAR
1.1- La 9ª edición de ANOTHER WAY FILM FESTIVAL, organizado por la asociación Another Way, se celebrará en la ciudad de Madrid de forma presencial y en España en formato online, los días 18-25 de octubre de 2023.

2. FINALIDAD DEL FESTIVAL
2.1- ANOTHER WAY FILM FESTIVAL tiene por finalidad divulgar, exhibir y premiar obras audiovisuales de ficción, animación y documentales, con temática de progreso sostenible, producidas en cualquier parte del mundo, además de promover acciones y actividades paralelas relacionadas con los audiovisuales y el medioambiente.
2.2- Entendemos por progreso sostenible un concepto integral que envuelve compromisos medioambientales, de cambio de valores y actitudes, de estilo de vida y principios éticos. Hablamos de consumo responsable, de tecnología, de innovación y de economía sostenible (que defienda un compromiso con la renovación de recursos, la no agresión social y ambiental, la equidad, la no superación de umbrales de riesgo, la asunción del compromiso cívico, la participación social, etc.)
El progreso sostenible requiere un enfoque multidisciplinar que, además de asociar la degradación medioambiental a los problemas de desarrollo económico y social, trata de plantear enfoques híbridos donde lo social y lo natural quedan integrados coherentemente y en permanente balance de cara al establecimiento de paridades.

3. INSCRIPCIÓN
3.1- Podrá participar cualquier persona física o entidad jurídica, de forma individual o colectiva, sin límite de edad, con los necesarios derechos sobre la obra presentada.
3.2- Cada participante podrá concursar con más de una obra audiovisual, pero es requisito rellenar una inscripción por cada obra presentada.
3.3- Se han creado dos categorías competitivas en esta novena edición:
- SECCIÓN OFICIAL: Podrán inscribirse las producciones cinematográficas realizadas a partir del año 2021 en adelante, siendo necesario su carácter inédito en Madrid, pero pudiendo haber sido exhibidas y/o premiadas en otros certámenes y festivales fuera de Madrid. Duración mínima 60 min - máxima 90 min.
- SECCIÓN IMPACTO: Podrán inscribirse las producciones cinematográficas realizadas a partir del año 2019 en adelante, no siendo necesario su carácter inédito en Madrid y pudiendo haber sido exhibidas y/o premiadas en otros certámenes y festivales. Duración mínima 60 min - máxima 90 min.
3.4- Si la película no es de habla española deberá tener subtitulado en castellano.
3.5- La inscripción es gratuita. El material y la ficha de inscripción deberán ser recibidos antes del día 25 de junio de 2023 a las 23:59, y debe ser enviado, sin excepciones, de una de las siguientes maneras:
Envío online de un enlace a través del email: films@anotherway.es. Imprescindible adjuntar estas bases/ficha de inscripción rellenada y firmada.
A través de la plataforma www.filmfreeway.com.
3.6- Los productores y/o realizadores y/o distribuidores de las obras seleccionadas serán informados en septiembre 2023. Esta fecha puede ser prorrogada según necesidades de la organización de la 9ª edición de ANOTHER WAY FILM FESTIVAL. La organización del festival no notificará las producciones no seleccionadas.
3.7- Una vez realizada la selección de las obras, los productores o distribuidores de las películas seleccionadas deberán enviar por correo electrónico a films@anotherway.es, los siguientes materiales para formalizar su participación en el festival:
- Bases firmadas.
- Película: archivo digital descargable en la más alta calidad posible (Apple ProRes o similar).
- Ficha técnica (año, duración, director, sinopsis larga y corta…)
- Subtítulos en español: preferiblemente incrustados en la película.
- Materiales visuales de promoción: póster de la obra, fotos en alta calidad, etc.
- Tráiler.
- Mini biografía y contacto del director/a.
- Redes Sociales de la productora/película/distribuidora si las tiene.
3.8- Si fuera requerida una copia de proyección diferente por baja calidad del archivo digital, el coste del envío correrá a cargo del participante.

4. SELECCIÓN
4.1- Un Comité de Selección, con total autonomía, seleccionará entre las obras inscritas, aquellas que participarán en las Secciones Competitivas.
4.2- Está vetada la inscripción de largometrajes por parte de miembros del Comité de Selección, el Jurado Oficial y las estructuras de Organización de la 9ª edición de ANOTHER WAY FILM FESTIVAL.
4.3- La organización de ANOTHER WAY FILM FESTIVAL se responsabiliza de guardar y conservar las obras recibidas y, en caso de daño o pérdida, el resarcimiento nunca podrá superar el precio de coste de la copia dañada o perdida.
4.4- El Festival puede crear secciones paralelas a las secciones competitivas con aquel material no seleccionado que considere de interés para su proyección durante el mismo, notificando a los legítimos propietarios de dicha circunstancia.

5. PREMIOS
5.1- Será constituido un Jurado Oficial para elegir a las producciones ganadoras en la Sección Oficial, siendo sus decisiones soberanas e irrevocables.
5.2- ANOTHER WAY FILM FESTIVAL concederá los siguientes premios en la Sección Oficial de la 9ª edición:
- Premio del Jurado al Mejor Largometraje con una dotación económica de 1.500€
- Premio del Público al Mejor Largometraje.
En ningún caso quedarán desiertos los premios. El Jurado no podrá otorgar premios ex aequo. El Jurado podrá otorgar una Mención Especial para aquella película con mejor contenido en sensibilización hacia el desarrollo sostenible o con aspectos técnicos muy destacados.
Así mismo, aquellas películas seleccionadas y ganadoras se comprometen a incluir los laureles del festival en el largometraje.
5.3.- ANOTHER WAY FILM FESTIVAL concederá los siguientes premios en la Sección Impacto:
- Premio del Público al Mejor Largometraje.
En ningún caso quedará desierto el premio.
5.4.- Se otorgarán los siguientes premios a títulos que puedan provenir de cualquiera de las dos secciones competitivas, Oficial e Impacto:
• Premio Odisea por la compra de derechos para la exhibición de la obra en dicho ca- nal. Previo acuerdo mutuo, compatible con otros acuerdos de exhibición que pueda tener la película. Será un premio único e irrepetible. Canal Odisea, (en Portugal, Odis- seia) es un canal de televisión de televisión por suscripción español operado por AMC Networks International Southern Europe. El canal emite programación dedicada a la cultura, ciencia y tecnología, incluyendo producciones nacionales e internacionales y producción propia.
• Mención EELISA, el jurado de la alianza otorgará esta mención que consiste en una ayuda valorada en 2.000€ para realizar la presentación de la película ganadora en al- gunas de las universidades que conforman la alianza, esta ayuda irá destinada a los gastos de viaje y hospedaje del cineasta. Será un premio único e irrepetible. EELISA (European Engineering Learning Innovation and Science Alliance), se trata de una alianza que forma parte de la ambiciosa iniciativa “European Universities” de la Unión Europea, llamada a transformar la educación superior en vivero para una nueva gene- ración de jóvenes profesionales preparados para liderar la transición verde, digital y sostenible de Europa.
5.5- Podrán ser otorgados otros premios y menciones honoríficas ofrecidos por instituciones y organizaciones nacionales e internacionales, previamente aprobados por la organización del Festival, siendo responsabilidad de dichas instituciones y organizaciones la elección de los galardonados y la entrega de los correspondientes premios.

6. DISPOSICIONES GENERALES Y FINALES
6.1- Para la divulgación y promoción del Festival, la organización se reserva el derecho de exhibición sin pago -en cine, televisión, internet u otros medios de difusión pública- de un extracto de la obra seleccionada.
6.2- Durante la celebración del certamen, la organización se reserva el derecho de exhibir de forma presencial las películas seleccionadas en cuantas sesiones como se estimen conveniente. A este respecto, las productoras cederán los derechos para la exhibición pública de sus películas, durante el tiempo de celebración del Festival sin coste alguno para el mismo.
6.3- En esta 9ª edición, las Secciones Oficial e Impacto también se exhibirán de manera digital. La Sección Oficial se exhibirá en la plataforma digital exclusiva de Another Way y la Sección Impacto se exhibirá en la plataforma digital Filmin. El acceso online a las obras será personalizado y estará geolocalizado en el territorio español durante un período de una semana en ambas Secciones. En ningún caso se exhibirán las películas de manera “abierta” online.
6.4- La Organización de ANOTHER WAY FILM FESTIVAL evaluará todos los trabajos presentados.
6.5- Finalizado ANOTHER WAY FILM FESTIVAL, la Organización podrá utilizar los trabajos seleccionados en muestras y programas culturales y ambientales posteriores siempre que la entrada sea gratuita, informando a los realizadores o productores o distribuidores del lugar y fecha de dichas proyecciones.
6.6- Cualquier situación omitida en este reglamento será resuelta por la organización de ANOTHER WAY FILM FESTIVAL, de acuerdo con los principios generales del derecho y a los usos y costumbres de los festivales audiovisuales.
6.7- La firma del realizador/productor/distribuidor en el formulario de inscripción implica la aceptación de este reglamento.
6.8- El presente reglamento está redactado en español e inglés. En caso de duda, prevalecerá su interpretación según la versión en español.

FEATURE FILMS

1. DATE AND PLACE
1.1- The ninth edition of ANOTHER WAY FILM FESTIVAL, organized by Another Way, will be held on October 18th – 25th 2023 in Madrid, and online, during the same dates, in the Spanish territory.

2. PURPOSE OF FESTIVAL
2.1- ANOTHER WAY FILM FESTIVAL wants to promote, showcase and reward audiovisual works of fiction, animation, experimental and documentaries on the subject of sustainable progress, produced anywhere in the world, also promote actions and activities related to the environment and audiovisual works.
2.2- Sustainable progress is a comprehensible concept that encompasses environmental commitment, change of attitude and values, lifestyle and ethical principles. We are talking about consumption, technology, economy and society always committed to a responsible use of resources, the non-aggression of neither our environment nor our society, equity, awareness of the consequences of our actions, not trespassing the critical points of no return, inviting all society to take part in this civil compromise.
Sustainable progress requires a multidisciplinary approach that on top of associating environmental degradation to the development problems and social costs, tries to lay out hybrid standpoints where society and nature are coherently integrated and permanently in balance establishing equality.

3. ENTRY FORM
3.1- Any individual or legal entity, individually or collectively, regardless of age, with the necessary rights to the work presented may participate.
3.2- Each participant may participate with more than one movie, but is a prerequisite to fill out a registration form for each work submitted.
3.3- There are two sections
- OFFICIAL SECTION: film productions made from the year 2021 onwards may enrol. It is a requirement to be a premier in Madrid, in spite of being shown or awarded in other contests and festivals before. A minimum running time of 60 min and a maximum of 90 min.
- IMPACT SECTION: film productions made from the year 2019 onwards can enrol. It does not require the absence of precedent and it could have been shown or awarded in other contests and festivals. A minimum running time of 60 min and a maximum of 90 min.
3.4- If the film is in any other language than Spanish it must come with Spanish subtitles.
3.5- The call for entry is free and open till the 25th of June 2023 at 11.59pm, and it must be sent, without exception, in one of the following ways:
Online: send link via email to: films@anotherway.es. Must be sent with entry form attached (find it here below).
Submissions are accepted via filmfreeway.com
3.6- The producers and / or directors and / or distributors of the selected works will be noticed in September 2022. This date may be extended according to the needs of ANOTHER WAY FILM FESTIVAL’s organization. The festival organization will not notify non-selected movies.
3.7- Once selected, the participants must send to films@anotherway.es the following materials:
- Signed rules of participation
- Film file in the best quality possible. But we prefer not DCP, but an HD archive that can be sent online, Apple ProRes or similar
- Data sheet (year, duration, director, short and long synopsis…)
- Spanish subtitles. (Embeded subtitles preferred)
- Filmmaker´s mini bio and contact for press interviews.
- 2 HQ photos for inclusion in web and catalogue
- Trailer and marketing material: poster, synopsis (long and short version), stills, etc.
- Producer/film/distributor’s Social Networks
3.8- If a copy were to be required due to a digital file in low quality the shipping expenses will be taken care of by the participant. Copies will only be returned if specified in writing (via email), detailing shipping information and date (back to distributor, producer, other festival, etc.)

4. SELECTION
4.1- An independent Selection Team will choose among the works submitted the films that are going to participate in the competitive categories.
4.2- Any Official Jury and structures of the organization, individuals or legal entities, with any connection with the productions entered in the Festival for the Competition Section cannot be part of the Selection Team.
4.3- The organization of ANOTHER WAY FILM FESTIVAL is in charge of keeping and maintenance of the films received. In case of damage or lost, the reimbursement can´t exceed the cost price of the damaged or lost copy.
4.4- ANOTHER WAY FILM FESTIVAL can create parallel sections with films that haven´t been selected, if so the legitimate owners/producers of the movie will be duly notified.

5. AWARDS
5.1- An International Official Jury will be constituted to choose winners in the Competitive Section, and all decisions will be final. The Organization may invite other independent and relevant organizations / associations to decide any of the prizes awarded.
5.2- ANOTHER WAY FILM FESTIVAL will award the following prizes in the Official Section of the 9th edition:
- Jury Award for Best Film – a € 1,500 reward
- Audience Award Best Film
Prizes cannot be declared voids. The jury can’t award prizes ex-aequo. The jury might give a special mention to a film with best awareness content or with outstanding technique.
In addition, all films awarded must include in their films the festival's laurel wreath in their works.
5.3- ANOTHER WAY FILM FESTIVAL will award the following prize in the Impact Section of the 9th edition:
- Audience Award Best Film
5.4- The following prizes will be awarded to titles that may come from any of the two competitive sections, Official and Impact:
• Odisea Prize for the purchase of rights for the exhibition of the work on said channel. Previous mutual agreement, compatible with other exhibition agreements that the film may have. It will be a unique and unrepeatable prize. Canal Odisea, (in Portugal, Odisseia) is a Spanish subscription television television channel operated by AMC Networks International Southern Europe. The channel broadcasts content dedicated to culture, science and technology, including national and international productions and its own production.
• EELISA mention, the jury of the alliance will award this mention, which consists of a grant valued at €2,000 to present the winning film in some of the universities that make up the alliance. This grant will go towards the travel and lodging expenses of the filmmaker. It will be a unique and unrepeatable prize. EELISA (European Engineering Learning Innovation and Science Alliance), is an alliance that is part of the ambitious initiative "European Universities" of the European Union, called to transform higher education into a nursery for a new generation of young professionals prepared to lead Europe's green, digital and sustainable transition
5.5- Other awards may be granted offered by institutions and national and international organizations previously approved by the organization of the Festival being the responsibility of these institutions and national and international organizations the choice of the winners.

6. GENERAL AND FINAL REQUIREMENTS
6.1- For Festival promotion, ANOTHER WAY FILM FESTIVAL’s organization reserves the right to exhibit an extract from the films selected free of charge, in cinema, TV, Internet or other public media.
6.2- While the contest is held, the organization reserves the right to display on-site the selected films as many times as necessary. According to this point the producers will give in the rights without any additional charge during the Festival.
6.3- In the 9th edition the Official and Impact Sections, will be also available in a digital platform. The Official Section will be streamed on demand in the exclusive Another Way digital platform and the Impact Section will be displayed on Filmin, spain’s leading VOD platform. The online access to the films will be geolocalizated in the Spanish territory for a week in both Sections. These films will in no case be available online for free.
6.4- The organization of the ANOTHER WAY FILM FESTIVAL will evaluate all productions submitted.
6.5- After the ANOTHER WAY FILM FESTIVAL may use selected productions for cultural and environmental programs, provided that the entry is free, informing the directors or producers or distributors of the place and date.
6.6- Any situation omitted from these regulations shall be determined by the ANOTHER WAY FILM FESTIVAL’s organization, according to general principles of law and customs of audiovisual contest or festivals.
6.7- The signature of the director/producer/distributor in the entry form implies acceptance of these rules.

RUEDA POR EL CAMBIO (CORTOMETRAJES)

ANOTHER WAY FILM FESTIVAL en el marco de la 9ª edición organiza la séptima edición del concurso de cortometrajes RUEDA POR EL CAMBIO patrocinado por SIGNUS y con la AGENCIA EFE VERDE como medio colaborador. Dicha edición se celebrará del 18 al 25 de octubre 2023.

PARTICIPACIÓN

Podrán participar en el concurso personas físicas y/o jurídicas de cualquier nacionalidad siempre y cuando hayan cumplido los 18 años. El número de cortometrajes que cada participante puede presentar a concurso es de dos por persona.

Podrán participar los trabajos realizados no antes del 2021. Podrán ser de género de ficción, documental y animación.

Los cortometrajes deberán ceñirse a una temática relacionada con el progreso sostenible con especial hincapié en la innovación, la reutilización de materiales y el compromiso con el medioambiente. Entendemos por progreso sostenible un concepto integral que envuelve compromisos medioambientales y sociales, de cambio de valores y actitudes, de estilo de vida y principios éticos por un modo de vida más armonizado con los recursos disponibles. Por ejemplo: consumo responsable, reciclaje de neumáticos, energías alternativas, economía circular, etc.

Quedan expresamente excluidos del concurso los empleados de Another Way Film Festival o cualquier patrocinador o colaborador que intervenga en el proceso de selección de los cortos finalistas, nominados o ganadores.

FECHAS DE PARTICIPACIÓN

La convocatoria de cortometrajes empieza el lunes 11 de abril de 2023 a las 10:00 hora peninsular española y finalizará el lunes 25 de junio de 2023 a las 23:59 hora peninsular española.

DURACIÓN DE LOS CORTOS

Los cortometrajes deberán durar entre uno (1´) y quince (15´) minutos.

IDIOMA

Se aceptan cortos en cualquier idioma. Si el idioma original del cortometraje no es castellano deberá llevar subtítulos en castellano.

FORMATO DE LOS CORTOS

Admitimos cortometrajes en cualquier formato digital siempre que tengan calidad HD, (por ejemplo: mp4 en 1280 x 720 px o 1920 x 1080 px). Los cortometrajes no podrán exceder en ningún caso los 50Mb de peso, independientemente del formato en que se envíen.

INSCRIPCIÓN

Para participar en el concurso de cortometrajes deberá registrarse en FilmFreeWay (https://filmfreeway.com/). Una vez registrado en la plataforma deberá inscribir el proyecto en la sección RUEDA POR EL CAMBIO, Sección NACIONAL o INTERNACIONAL dependiendo del país de origen del cortometraje.

Cada participante deberá rellenar la ficha técnica y enviar:
– El archivo del cortometraje (.mp4)
– El cartel del corto
– Un fotograma del corto

MECÁNICA DEL CONCURSO

Sección Nacional:

Una vez que haya finalizado el plazo de recepción de cortometrajes, un Comité de Selección convocado por la organización de ANOTHER WAY FILM FESTIVAL será el encargado de visionar los cortometrajes admitidos a concurso para elegir los finalistas.

Los cortometrajes finalistas serán valorados por un jurado independiente. En el marco del festival habrá una sesión presencial y dicha sesión estará disponible bajo demanda en la plataforma virtual exclusiva de Another Way.

Sección Internacional:

Una vez que haya finalizado el plazo de recepción de cortometrajes, un Comité de Selección convocado por la organización de ANOTHER WAY FILM FESTIVAL será el encargado de visionar los cortometrajes admitidos a concurso para elegir los finalistas.

Los cortometrajes finalistas se publicarán en abierto en la web a mediados de julio. Desde su fecha de publicación hasta el 17 de octubre 2023, los participantes de la categoría internacional podrán compartir su obra en redes para así obtener el mayor número de visualizaciones y optar al Premio del Público. Los cortos internacionales serán visionados exclusivamente online.

Los cortometrajes seleccionados en la Sección Internacional se subirán al canal de YouTube de Another Way Film Festival y se publicarán en la web del concurso de cortometrajes RUEDA POR EL CAMBIO.

Una vez realizada la selección de finalistas, la organización del concurso avisará por mail a los seleccionados. La organización se reserva el derecho a no admitir a concurso las piezas que, según su criterio, no cumplan las condiciones técnicas, artísticas y/o legales exigidas por el concurso. Asimismo, se reserva el derecho a descalificar o excluir piezas que la organización considere que puedan herir sensibilidades.

PREMIOS

Sección Nacional:
Premio del Jurado con una dotación económica de 600 euros.

Sección Internacional:
Premio del Público al cortometraje internacional con más visionado con una dotación económica de 400 euros.

La entrega de premios tendrá lugar en la gala de clausura del festival el 25 de octubre de 2023. Tanto participantes como ganadores deberán incluir en sus proyectos el laurel del festival.

CUESTIONES LEGALES

Todos los cortometrajes participantes deberán contar con las autorizaciones y cesiones de derechos de autor y de otros titulares de obras preexistentes y originales que se incorporen en los mismos. En este sentido, los participantes garantizan que los cortometrajes no vulneran ningún derecho de explotación, ni derechos de honor, intimidad e imagen, ni derechos de Propiedad Intelectual y/o Industrial y/o cualesquiera otros derechos de terceros, y que no vulneran la legislación vigente. La organización del concurso declina toda responsabilidad legal sobre las películas presentadas a concurso y su contenido.

Sección Nacional:

El autor del cortometraje seleccionado para el concurso cede a ANOTHER WAY FILM FESTIVAL, patrocinador y medio colaborador del concurso, los derechos de reproducción en el marco del festival (18-25 octubre 2023) para una sesión presencial y para ofrecerlo online bajo demanda en la plataforma VOD de Another Way Film Festival durante este mismo periodo. Asimismo, cede los derechos de comunicación pública y/o distribución de fragmentos del mismo a fin de que pueda ser divulgado durante la campaña de comunicación previa al festival que comienza un mes antes que dicho evento. El ejercicio de estos derechos será, exclusivamente, con fines promocionales y divulgativos del concurso. Hasta la entrega de premios del festival, el autor no podrá comunicar públicamente el fallo del jurado.

Sección Internacional:

El autor del cortometraje seleccionado para el concurso cede a ANOTHER WAY FILM FESTIVAL, patrocinador y medio colaborador del concurso, los derechos de reproducción desde la selección de los finalistas en el mes de julio hasta la celebración del festival (18-25 octubre 2023). Serán publicados en el canal de YouTube de ANOTHER WAY FILM FESTIVAL así como en la web del festival. Asimismo, cede los derechos de comunicación pública de fragmentos del mismo para la campaña de comunicación y buen desarrollo de esta sección. El ejercicio de estos derechos será, exclusivamente, con fines promocionales y divulgativos del concurso. Hasta la entrega de premios del festival, el autor no podrá comunicar públicamente el fallo del jurado.

Cualquier explotación o uso comercial del cortometraje requerirá el consentimiento previo y expreso del autor, suscribiéndose, en su caso, los correspondientes acuerdos.
Los autores de los cortometrajes autorizan al concurso a utilizar, reproducir, divulgar, imprimir, publicar y difundir a través de cualquier medio de comunicación, el nombre del director, intérpretes y equipo técnico, sus nombres artísticos, fotografías e imágenes representadas por cualquier medio plástico, biografía, etc., con objeto de que se puedan realizar, directa o indirectamente, actos de promoción y comunicación de las obras audiovisuales.

La plataforma creada por ANOTHER WAY FILM FESTIVAL apoya a los nuevos talentos del cine, para que puedan desarrollar su creatividad y autenticidad, lo que no implica que ANOTHER WAY FILM FESTIVAL respalde ni comparta todos los mensajes implícitos en las obras presentadas a concurso.

La organización del concurso queda exonerada de toda responsabilidad en caso del mal funcionamiento de la red Internet, que impida el normal desarrollo del concurso por causas ajenas a la empresa y especialmente por actos externos de mala fe. Tampoco será responsable de los problemas de transmisión o pérdida de correo electrónico no imputable a la misma.

ANOTHER WAY FILM FESTIVAL se reserva el derecho a realizar modificaciones sobre las presentes bases o añadir anexos sucesivos sobre su mecánica y premios, siempre que las mismas estén justificadas o no perjudiquen a los participantes, y se comuniquen a éstos debidamente durante el transcurso del Concurso.

ACEPTACIÓN DE LAS BASES

La participación en el concurso supone la aceptación íntegra de las presentes bases. El Comité Organizador decidirá sobre los casos imprevistos que se presenten y que no estén recogidos en estas bases.

ANOTHER WAY FILM FESTIVAL, within the framework of its 9th edition organizes the seventh edition of the short film contest RUEDA POR EL CAMBIO sponsored by SIGNUS and AGENCIA EFE VERDE as media partner. This edition will be held on October 18th–25th 2023 in Madrid, and online, during the same dates, in the Spanish territory.

PARTICIPATION

Individuals and/or legal persons over 18 years old of any nationality may participate in the contest. The number of short films that each participant can submit to the contest is two per person.

The projects presented need to be produced from 2021 onwards. Any genre is accepted: fiction, documentary and animation.

The short films must be related to sustainability with special emphasis on innovation, the reuse of materials and commitment to the protection of the environment. We understand sustainability as a concept that includes environmental and social commitments to change values and attitudes, as well as lifestyle and ethical principles for a way of life more balanced with the available resources. For example: responsible consumption, recycling, alternative energies, circular economy…

The employees of Another Way Film Festival, any sponsor or collaborator who participate in the selection process of the finalist, nominated or winning shorts are expressly excluded from the contest.

DATES OF PARTICIPATION

The online short film contest starts on Tuesday, April 11th 2023 at 10:00 Spanish local time and ends on Sunday, June 25th 2023 at 23.59pm Spanish local time.

DURATION OF SHORTS

The short films should last between one (1’) and fifteen (15’) minutes.

LANGUAGE

Short films are accepted in any language. If the original language of the short film is not Spanish, it must have subtitles in Spanish.

SHORT FORMAT

We admit short films in any digital format as long as they have HD quality, (for example: mp4 in 1280 x 720 px or 1920 x 1080 px). The films may not exceed 50Mb in any case, regardless of the format in which they are sent.

SUBMIT YOUR SHORT FILM

To submit your short film you must register in FilmFreeWay (https://filmfreeway.com/). Once registered, you must enlist your project in the NATIONAL (Spain) or INTERNATIONAL (any other countries) section of RUEDA POR EL CAMBIO; depending on the country of origin of the short film.

COMPETITION RULES

National Section

Once the finalists have been elected, a Selection Committee – designated by ANOTHER WAY FILM FESTIVAL – will be responsible for viewing the short films admitted to the contest in order to choose the finalists.
The finalist short films will be evaluated by an independent jury. During the festival there will be an open session to the public where all national short films will be screened. Short films will be also available on our exclusive VOD platform.

International Section

A Selection Committee – designated by ANOTHER WAY FILM FESTIVAL – will be responsible for viewing the short films admitted to the contest in order to choose the finalists.

The finalists will be announced and published mid-July in ANOTHER WAY FILM FESTIVAL’s website. At the same time, the international section participants will be able to share their work in all social media until October 17th, in order to reach the largest number of views which can lead to obtain the Audience Award. International short films will only be viewed online.

The selected international short films will be uploaded to Another Way Film Festival YouTube channel and will be published on its website for the short film competition RUEDA POR EL CAMBIO.

Once the organisation of the contest has selected the finalists short film, an email will be sent to the selected participants. The organisation reserves the right not to admit to the contest the pieces that, according to its criterion, do not fulfill the technical, artistic and / or legal conditions demanded by the contest. Likewise, it reserves the right to disqualify or exclude pieces that the organisation considers may hurt sensitivities.

AWARDS

NATIONAL SECTION

The Jury Award consists of a prize of 600 euros.

INTERNATIONAL SECTION

The Audience Award to the international short film with the most views will be granted with 400 euros.

The award ceremony for both sections will take place in the Festival’s closing session on Tuesday, 25th October 2023. Participants and winners must include the festival’s laurel in their projects.

LEGAL ISSUES

All participating short films must have the authorisations and assignments of copyright and other holders of pre-existing and original works that are incorporated in them. Hence, the participants guarantee that the short films do not violate any right of exploitation, nor rights of honor, privacy and image, nor rights of Intellectual and / or Industrial Property and / or any other rights of third parties, and that they do not violate the legislation into effect. The organisation of the contest declines all legal responsibility over the films submitted to the contest and its content.

National Section

The author of the selected short film gives ANOTHER WAY FILM FESTIVAL, sponsor and media partner of the contest, the rights of reproduction during the festival (18th-25th October 2023) in an open session to the public were all the national short films will be screened as well as in our exclusive VOD platform. In addition, the author gives the rights of public communication and distribution of fragments of the short film during the media campaign of the festival which starts a month before. The exercise of these rights will be exclusively for promotional and informative purposes of the contest. Until the publication of the jury's decision, the author may not exhibit or publicly communicate the award, if any has been given.

International Section

The author of the finalist short film gives ANOTHER WAY FILM FESTIVAL, sponsor and media partner of the contest the rights of reproduction since mid-July until the festival’s ending (25th October 2023). The finalists will be published on the festival’s YouTube Channel and website. In addition, the author gives the rights of public communication of fragments from short film, during the media campaign of the festival and the proper development of this section of the contest. The exercise of these rights will be exclusively for promotional and informative purposes of the contest. Until the publication of the jury's decision, the author may not exhibit or publicly communicate the award, if any has been given.

Any exploitation or commercial use of the short film will require the prior and express consent of the author, subscribing, where appropriate, the corresponding agreements.

The authors of the short films authorise the contest to use, reproduce, print or publish through any means of communication, the name of the director, interpreters and technical team, their artistic names, photographs and images represented by any plastic medium, biography, etc., in order to carry out, directly or indirectly, acts of promotion and communication of audiovisual works.

The platform created by ANOTHER WAY FILM FESTIVAL supports the new talents of the cinema, so that they can develop their creativity and authenticity, which does not imply that ANOTHER WAY FILM FESTIVAL endorses or shares all the messages implicit in the works submitted to the contest.

The organisation of the contest is exonerated of all responsibility in case of malfunction of the Internet network, which prevents the normal development of the contest for reasons beyond the company and especially for external acts of bad faith. Neither will be responsible for the problems of transmission or loss of electronic mail not attributable to it.

ANOTHER WAY FILM FESTIVAL reserves the right to make modifications to these rules or to add successive appendices regarding its mechanics and prizes, provided that they are justified or do not harm the participants and they are duly notified during the course of the Competition.

ACCEPTANCE OF THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Participation in the contest implies full acceptance of these rules. The Organising Committee will decide on the unforeseen cases that arise and that are not included in these rules.
