YARIŞMA ŞARTNAMESİ

KONU VE AMAÇ

Ankara Uluslararası Yaban Hayatı Belgesel Film Festivali, dünyanın her bölgesinden yaban hayatı konu alan belgesel filmleri ve bu eserlerin yapım ekiplerini izleyiciyle buluşturmak, Türkiye’nin yaban hayatına ulusal ve uluslararası alanda ilgi çekmek, amatör ya da profesyonel yaban hayatı belgeselcilerini buluşturmak ve belgesel üretmeye teşvik etmek, seminerler, atölyeler, paneller aracılığıyla doğa koruma çalışmalarına ve yaban hayatı belgeselciliğine katkı sağlamak, teknik, etik ve yaklaşım olarak dünyadaki değişimleri takip etmek, işbirliklerine ve ortak yapımlara vesile olacak uluslararası ortamı sağlamak amacıyla düzenlenen bir etkinliktir. Festival kapsamında yer alan belgesel film yarışması, yaban hayatı belgeselcilerini onurlandırmak ve motive etmek amacını taşımaktadır.

ORGANİZASYON

Ankara Uluslararası Yaban Hayatı Belgesel Film Festivali, kurucu Ece Soydam tarafından, Çiğdem Eğitim, Çevre ve Dayanışma Derneği (Çiğdemim) ve Doğa Koruma Merkezi ortaklığı ile düzenlenmektedir.

KATEGORİLER

Yarışma 2 (iki) ana kategoridedir:

- Uzun Metraj Belgesel Film
Bu yarışma kategorisi, başlangıç ve bitiş jenerikleri dahil olacak şekilde, süresi 52 – 90 dakika arasında olan belgesel filmler içindir.

- Kısa Metraj Belgesel Film
Bu yarışma kategorisi, başlangıç ve bitiş jenerikleri dahil olacak şekilde, süresi 20 – 51 dakika arasında olan belgesel filmler içindir.

KATILIM KOŞULLARI

1. Yarışmaya, yapımı 01 Ocak 2023 tarihinden sonra gerçekleştirilen belgesel türünde yapımlar katılabilir. Televizyon programı, tanıtım filmi gibi sinema sanatı içinde değerlendirilemeyecek türde yapımlar yarışmaya kabul edilmez. Tümüyle kurmaca ya da canlandırma olan sinema filmleri ya da kısa filmler, yarışma kategorileri dışındadır.

2. Başvuran belgesellerin yaban hayatı konu alan içeriğe sahip olması gerekmektedir. Yaban hayata doğrudan değinmeyen, yalnızca doğa ve çevre temalı belgeseller değerlendirmeye alınmaz.

3. Belgesellerin daha önce ulusal ya da uluslararası yarışmalara katılmış ve/veya yarışmalardan ödül almış olması, çeşitli kanallarda yayınlanmış olması yarışmaya katılmaya engel değildir.

4. Festival Komitesi, Seçici Kurul ve festivale destek veren kurum üyeleri ve personeli hariç, başvuru tarihi itibariyle 18 yaşını doldurmuş amatör ve profesyonel tüm belgeselciler yarışmaya katılabilir.

5. Yarışmaya katılım ücretsizdir.

6. Yarışmacılar hangi kategoride yarışmaya katılacaklarını başvuruda belirtir.

7. Yönetmenler, birden fazla eserle ayrı ya da aynı kategoride yarışmaya katılamaz.

8. Dizi olarak gerçekleştirilmiş belgeseller, kendi içinde bütünlüğü olması koşuluyla, en fazla bir bölümle yarışmaya katılabilir.

9. Eserlerin başvurusu yönetmen veya yapımcı tarafından yapılır. Eserde yönetmenliğin birden fazla kişi tarafından yapılması durumunda müracaatı yapan, diğer kişilerin iznini almış olarak kabul edilir. Bu durumda ödül, müracaatı yapan kişiye verilir. Ödülün paylaşımından doğacak uyuşmazlıklardan Festival Komitesi ve Seçici Kurul sorumlu değildir.

10. Yarışmaya, mxf, mov, vb. uzantılı full HD ya da üzeri çözünürlükte çekilmiş yapımlar katılabilir.

11. Yarışmaya www.filmfreeway.com web sitesi üzerinden direkt başvuru yapılabilir. Ayrıca www.aywff.com.tr adresi ve festivalin sosyal medya hesapları üzerinden detaylı ve güncel bilgiye ulaşılabilir.

12. Başvurunun tamamlanabilmesi için aşağıdaki bilgilerin info@aywff.com.tr e-posta adresine gönderilmesi gerekmektedir:

- Filmin internet ortamında gönderilen izleme kopyası ya da festival sonuna dek şifresi geçerli bir online izleme / indirme bağlantısı
- Yönetmenin özgeçmişi (en fazla 600 karakter)
- Yönetmenin filmografisi
- Belgeselin kısa özeti (en fazla 650 karakter)
- Yönetmenin en az 300 dpi çözünürlükte jpeg ya da TIFF formatında bir adet fotoğrafı
- Belgeselden en az 300 dpi çözünürlükte jpeg ya da TIFF formatında üç adet fotoğraf
- Belgeselin afişi
- Belgeselin 30 – 60 saniye süreli fragmanı

13. Türkçe sesli ya da altyazılı, İngilizce sesli ya da altyazılı eserler değerlendirmeye alınacaktır. Bunlar dışında herhangi bir dilde olan filmlerin, İngilizce sesli ya da altyazılı olarak iletilmesi gerekmektedir.

14. Finale kalan filmlerin başvuru sahipleri, İngilizce (.srt) altyazı dosyasını ve filmin mov / mxf uzantılı full HD ya da üzeri çözünürlükte kopyasını en geç 03 Mart 2025 tarihinde teslim etmekle yükümlüdür. Aksi takdirde, belgeselin gösterimi bu şartnamede Madde 12’de belirtilen izleme kopyası ile yapılır ve belgesel ekibinin festivale katılımı durumunda yol ve konaklama masrafları ödenmez.

15. Festival komitesi, gerekli görüldüğü takdirde yönetmen ve eser hakkında ek belge / bilgi talep edebilir.

16. Başvuru sırasında istenen belgeler sahiplerine iade edilmez. Festival arşivinde saklanır.

DEĞERLENDİRME

1. Ön Eleme Kurulu ve Seçici Kurul üyeleri Festival Komitesi tarafından belirlenir, Festival Komite Başkanı tarafından onaylanır. Ön Eleme Kurulu, en az 5 (beş) kişiden oluşur. Seçici Kurul, en az 2 (iki) Türk üye olacak şekilde toplam 5 (beş) kişiden oluşur. Finale kalan belgesellerin sayısına göre, iki kategori için tek ya da iki farklı Seçici Kurul oluşturulabilir.

2. Ön Eleme Kurulu ve Seçici Kurul; yönetmen, yapımcı, sinema sektörü çalışanı, eleştirmen, oyuncu, sanatçı, akademisyen, basın mensubu, sinema ile ilgili kuruluşların üyeleri gibi kendi alanında uzman kişilerden oluşabilir. Seçici Kurul Başkanı dahil, Kurul üyelerinin yalnızca bir oy hakkı vardır. Festival Komitesi adına bir temsilci doğal üye olarak Seçici Kurul’da yer alır, ancak oy hakkına sahip değildir.

3. Ön Eleme Kurulu, yarışma için başvuruda bulunan eserlerin; şartnameye uygunluk, teknik, estetik, yaratıcılık ve kategori seçimleri yönünden değerlendirmesini ve elemesini yapar. Ön Eleme Kurulu, her iki kategoride kriterlere uyan ve finalist olarak belirlenen en az 4 (dört), en fazla 7 (yedi) adet belgesel filmi, Festival Komitesi’ne yazılı ve imzalı olarak sunar.

4. Ön değerlendirme sonuçları www.aywff.com.tr web sitesinde yayınlanır ve ön elemeyi geçen eser sahiplerinin e-posta adreslerine doğrudan bildirilir.

5. Seçici Kurul, her iki kategoride finale kalan belgesellerin yaratıcılık ve sanatsal niteliklerini gözeterek dereceye girenleri belirler. Seçici Kurul kararı, sonuçların açıklanacağı tarihten en geç bir gün önce, yazılı, gerekçeli ve imzalı olarak Festival Komitesi’ne iletilir. Ön Eleme Kurulu ve Seçici Kurul’un kararları kesindir. Katılımcıların sonuçlara itiraz etme hakkı yoktur.

6. “En İyi Türkiye Yapımı Belgesel Ödülü”, her iki kategoride en az 2 (iki) Türk yapımı belgesel finale kaldıysa, iki farklı kategoride verilir. Finale kalan film sayısı daha az ise, iki kategoriye başvuran Türkiye yapımı belgeseller, uzun metraj Seçici Kurul üyeleri tarafından birlikte değerlendirilir. Yeterli sayıda finalist film yoksa, En İyi Türkiye Yapımı Belgesel Ödülü verilmez.

SONUÇLARIN AÇIKLANMASI

1. Derece alan filmler, 18 Mayıs 2025 Pazar günü yapılacak ödül töreninde açıklanır.

2. Finale kalan eser sahiplerinin ödül törenine katılması, katılamaması halinde film yapım ekibinden temsilci göndermesi beklenir.

3. Festivalde verilecek ödüller aşağıdaki gibidir:

4. Festivale katkı sağlayan kurum ve kuruluşların talepleri halinde özel ödül verilebilir.

5. Seçici Kurul, belirlenen ödüller haricinde para ödülü verilmeksizin özel ödül verebilir. Seçici Kurul, ödülü hiçbir esere vermeme ya da bir ödülü iki esere verme hakkına sahiptir.

GENEL KOŞULLAR

1. Yarışmaya katılım ile bu şartnamede bahsedilen tüm düzenlemeler ve şartlar kabul edilmiş sayılır. Bu şartname kapsamında yer almayan tüm konularda karar verme yetkisi Festival Komitesi’ne aittir. Festival Komitesi bu şartnamede belirtilen tüm hususlarda değişiklik yapma ve gerekli gördüğü takdirde festivali ve yarışmayı iptal etme hakkını saklı tutar.

2. Ortak yapımlar, gönderen kuruluş adına yarışmaya kabul edilir. Hak sahipliği ya da yarışmaya gönderilen eser içinde özgün olmayan metin, görüntü, müzik, vb. kullanımlar nedeniyle üçüncü kişilerle doğacak her türlü telif hakkı ihlali iddiası başvuranın sorumluluğundadır. Başvuru belgesinde yer alan bilgilerin doğruluğu, imzalayan kişiyi bağlar. Bu bilgiler nedeniyle doğabilecek hukuksal sorumluluk imza sahibine aittir. Üçüncü şahıslarla herhangi bir anlaşmazlık durumunda Festival Komitesi sorumlu değildir.

3. Yarışmaya katılımdan kaynaklanan, kargo, gümrük ve sigorta bedelleri gibi giderler katılımcıya aittir. Siber güvenlik, hırsızlık ve benzeri suçlardan Festival Komitesi sorumlu tutulamaz.

4. Yarışmaya başvuran filmlere herhangi bir katılım ve gösterim ücreti ödenmez. Festival süresince yapılan gösterimler için filmlerin yapımcılarından ayrıca izin alınmaz. Yarışmaya katılan filmler, festival günleri içinde, Festival Komitesi tarafından belirlenen salonlarda ve zamanda ücretsiz olarak gösterilir. Eser sahipleri, salon ya da program değişikliği talep edemez.

ÖZEL KOŞULLAR:

1. Yarışmaya başvuran yapımlardan bazıları yarışmaya seçilmeseler bile, filmin yapımcısının izniyle Festival Komitesi tarafından özel gösterim programına alınabilir.

2. Festivalde finale kalan filmlerin sahipleri, Festival Komitesi’nin belirlediği kişi sayısında ve tarihlerde festivale davet edilir. Davet edilen kişilerin konaklama ve ulaşım (özel araç hariç) giderleri Festival Komitesi tarafından karşılanır.

FİKRİ HAKLAR

1. Yarışmaya katılım için teslim edilen her türlü görsel malzeme, yarışmanın tanıtımı için basılı medya ve internet dahil diğer tüm medyalarda eser sahibine herhangi bir ücret ödenmeksizin yayınlanabilir / kullanılabilir.

2. Yarışmada ödül alan eserler, Festival Komitesi tarafından süresiz olarak, ticari olmayan ulusal ve uluslararası kültürel ve sanatsal platformlarda, görsel ve yazılı basında, sosyal medyada ve uygun görülen yerlerde kullanabilir.

COMPETITION RULES AND TERMS

SUBJECT AND PURPOSE

Ankara International Wildlife Documentary Film Festival is an event which aims to introduce the audience to documentary films about wildlife from all around the world and to bring them together with the crews of these productions, to create both national and international interest in the wildlife of Türkiye, to introduce amateur or professional wildlife filmmakers and to encourage them to produce documentaries, to contribute to nature conservation studies and wildlife filmmaking through seminars, workshops, panels, to follow the changes in the world in terms of technology, ethics and approach, to create the international environment for cooperations and coproductions. The competition section of the festival is intended to honor and motivate wildlife filmmakers.

ORGANIZATION

Ankara International Wildlife Documentary Film Festival is organized by the founder Ece Soydam, in partnership with Çiğdem Eğitim, Çevre ve Dayanışma Derneği (Çiğdemim) and Doğa Koruma Merkezi.

CATEGORIES

The competition is in 2 (two) main categories:

- Feature Documentary Film
This competition category is for documentary films with a duration of 52 – 90 minutes, including the opening and closing credits.

- Short Documentary Film
This competition category is for documentary films with a duration of 20 – 51 minutes, including the opening and closing credits.

TERMS OF PARTICIPATION

1. Documentaries produced after January 1, 2023 can participate in the contest. Television programs, promotional films, etc that are outside this genre and that cannot be considered within the boundaries of the art of cinema are not accepted to the competition. Fictional, animated or short films are not included in the competition categories.

2. The content of the submitted documentaries have to be about wildlife. Documentaries that do not directly address wildlife and are only about nature and environment will not be considered for competition.

3. Documentaries that have previously participated in and/or received awards from national or international competitions, or have been broadcast in various channels can still particiapte in the competition.

4. The competition is open to amateur or professional filmmakers over 18 years old, except for the members and personnel of the Festival Committee, Selection Committee and the supporting institutions.

5. Participation to the competition is free.

6. Participants indicate in their application the category that they are submitting their films to.

7. Directors cannot participate in the competition with more than one work, or to more than one category.

8. Documentaries produced as a "series" can participate in the competition with only one episode that is complete in itself.

9. The works must be submitted by the director or the producer of the film. If the film is directed by more than one person, the applicant is considered to have the permission of the people involved . In this case, the award is given to the applicant. The Festival Committee and the Selection Committee are not responsible for any problems regarding the sharing of the award.

10. Documentaries that have been shot as mxf, mov, mp4, etc. files in full HD or higher resolution formats can participate in the competitiont.

11. Participants can directly submit through www.filmfreeway.com and can reach more detailed and up to date information on www.aywff.com.tr and the social media accounts of the festival.

12. For a submission to be complete, the following documents have to be sent to the e-mail address info@aywff.com.tr:

- The screening copy of the film that is sent through internet or the screening / download link of the film that has a valid password until the end of the festival
- Director's CV (max. 600 characters)
- Director's filmography
- Brief summary of the documentary (max. 650 characters)
- One photograph of the director, at least 300 dpi resolution in jpeg or TIFF format
- Minimum three photographs from the documentary, at least 300 dpi resolution in jpeg or TIFF format
- Poster of the documentary
- Trailer of the documentary with a duration of 30 – 60 seconds

13. Films that are dubbed or subtitled in Turkish or English will be considered for evaluation. If the film is in any other language, it has to be dubbed or subtitled in English.

14. Submitters of finalist films are entitled to provide the English subtitles file (.srt) and the mov / mxf file of the film by March 03rd, 2025 the latest. If not, the screening of the film will have to done by the screening copy mentioned in Item 12 of this document and the travel and accomodation expenses of the film crew cannot be covered if they attend the festival.

15. The Festival Committee, if sees necessary, may request additional documents / information about the director and the film.

16. Documents requested for submission will not be returned to their owners. They will be stored in the festival archives.

EVALUATION

1. The members of the Pre-Selection Committee and the Selection Committee are determined by the Festival Committee and approved by the Chairman of the Festival Committee. The Pre-Selection Committee consists of at least 5 (five) members. The Selection Committee also has 5 (five) members, at least 2 (two) of whom are Turkish. Depending on the number of finalist films, there will be one or two Selection Committees for the two competition categories.

2. The Pre-Selection Committee and the Selection Committee consist of experts in their respective fields such as directors, producers, professionals of cinema, critics, actors, artists, academicians, members of the press and of cinema-related institutions. Each committee member has only one vote, including the Chair of the Committee. A member on behalf of the Festival Committee joins the Selection Committee, but does not have the right to vote.

3. The Pre-Selection Committee evaluates and selects the submissions based on compliance with the terms and rules, techinal specifications, aesthetics, creativity and category choices. The Committee presents its written and signed decision to the Festival Committee, presenting at least 4 (four) and up to 7 (seven) documentary films in each category that meet the criteria and are selected as finalists.

4. Announcement of the finalists are published on the website www.aywfft.com.tr and the submitters of the finalist films are informed individually by e-mail.

5. The Selection Committee determines the winners among the finalist films in both categories, based on their creativity and artistic qualities. The Committee decision is submitted to the Festival Committee in writing and signed, stating the reasons for the decision, a day before the announcement of the results the latest. The decisions of the Pre-Selection and Selection Committees are final and cannot be disputed by the participants.

6. “The Best Turkish Production” awards are presented in two categories only if there are at least 2 (two) finalist films in each category. If the number of finalist films are less than that, the Turkish documentaries in two categories will be evaluated together by the feature film Selection Committee. In case there are not enough number of films, The Best Turkish Production Award will not be presented.

NOTIFICATION

1. The awards will be announced at the awards ceremony on Sunday, May 18, 2025.

2. The submitters of finalist films are expected to attend the award ceremony or to send a representative from the crew in case they cannot attend.

3. The prizes to be presented at the festival are as follows:

Best Short Documentary plate and statuette
Short Documentary Special Jury Prize plate
Best Turkish Short Documentary Production plate

4. Upon request of institutions or organizations that support the festival, additional special awards may be presented.

5. The Selection Committee can present additional special awards, with the condition that there is no prize money involved. The Selection Committee has the right not to award any films or to give one award to two films.

GENERAL CONDITIONS

1. Participation in the competition means all rules and terms mentioned in this reference are accepted. The Festival Committee has the right to decide on all matters not covered by this document. The Festival Committee reserves the right to amend all of the issues specified and to cancel the festival and the competition.

2. Co-productions are accepted to the competition in the name of the submitting organization. Any third-party disputes regarding ownership or originality of script, music, picture, etc are the responsibility of the submitter. The truth of the information in the application is guaranteed by the submitter. The signatory has the responsibility in any legal disputes arising from this information. The Festival Committee is not responsible for any disputes with third parties.

3. Shipping, customs, freight and insurance costs arising from participation in the competition belong to the participant. The Festival Committe cannot be held responsible for any criminal acts such as cyber security, theft, etc.

4. Submitters are not paid any fees for submitting or screening their films. No additional permission from the producers is necessary for the screening of the films during the festival. Films in competition are screened free of charge during the festival days on the dates and time determined by the Festival Committee. Owners of submitted works cannot request changes in screening venues or schedule.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

1. Even if some of the submitted documentaries are not selected as finalists, they can be included in special screening programs by the Festival Committee, with the permission of their producers.

2. The crews of the finalist films are invited to the festival, in the number of people and on dates determined by the Festival Committee. Accomodation and travel expenses (except private vehicles) of the guests are covered by the Festival Committee.

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS

1. All visual materials submitted for participation in the competition can be published / used to promote the festival in all kinds of media, including printed materials and the internet, without any copyright payment.

2. The winning documentaries of the festival can be used indefinitely for non-commercial national and international cultural and artistic platforms, visual and printed media, social media and wherever deemed appropriate.
