You might not know it, but June is ‘Adopt a Shelter Cat Month and we want your help in celebrating all things feline! Every year shelters, like Animal Humane New Mexico, experience what they call, Kitten Season, which brings hundreds of kittens to the shelter during warmer months—all of them needing loving homes. We LOVE kittens but we hope to see fewer of them in our shelters each year.

Submit a feline-focused of 10 minutes or less in any genre. From documentary to an action-packed thrill ride, submit your PAWesome film to help us pay homage to cats & kittens of all shapes & sizes.

This year's theme is The Cat's Pajamas!

1) Plaque commemorating your win: Gold Whiskers Award, Silver Whiskers Award, Bronze Whiskers Award, Best in Theme, Fan Favorite.

Rules & Terms

Rules:

•Films must be feline focused.

•Enter your submission here on FilmFreeway by 11:59 pm MST on May 15, 2024, for potential inclusion in the family-friendly Feline Film Festival screening.

•Only one submission per entrant will be considered for an award, though multiple entrants per filmmaker(s) will be accepted and may be included at the screening.

•Titles: Please name your movie files the title of your piece

• Animal Humane New Mexico may share all entries on social media or for future event promotion.

•Winners will be selected by a qualified panel of judges & will be notified in early June.

Note: Artists assign their rights, title & interest to Animal Humane New Mexico. Animal Humane may modify or alter your submission but will not sacrifice the integrity of the artwork. The artist waives all rights granted to them under the Visual Artists Rights Act, 17U.S.C. 106A, as amended.

    This film festival was such a fun experience. It brought together so many animal lovers, animal humane organizations and actual live cats for adoption in a family friendly atmosphere with food, popcorn and a celebration of extraordinary artists. Seeing the high-quality submissions and the amazing work that Animal Humane NM does for our community was a fantastic experience for my family. We are so glad the film festival is back and will be attending for years to come!
