Festival Internacional AnimaVerso

1. Goals

ANIMAVERSO INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL is a non-profit social event that features a selection of works for a competitive exhibition with awards for different categories. Animations can be of all genres, including works of fiction, experimental and documentaries, in their respective categories (feature film, short film and videogame cinematics).

The AnimaVerso International Festival objective is to promote and provoke reflections on the animation industry, promoting the exhibition, distribution and production of audiovisual works created in Santa Catarina, Brazil and the world.

2. Period

The AnimaVerso International Festival will take place from December 4th to 6th, 2023 at CIC in Florianópolis.

3. Organization

The AnimaVerso International Festival is an unprecedented event in the field of animation, created by the Bustingorri brothers, Iván and Jeremías. By invitation we have partnerships with Lirous K'yo Fonseca Ávila, in collaboration with ADEH - Association in Defense of Human Rights and UFSC - Federal University of Santa Catarina represented by the professor of the animation course Mônica Stein.

4. Regulation

To register in the selection of the Festival's Exhibitions, you must know the next requirements:

4.a. Short film must be finalized in digital format and have a maximum duration of 30 (thirty) minutes;
4.b. Productions that were completed from 2020 onwards (except for UFSC students) can participate in the Competitive Exhibition;
4.c. The short film must have full credits in the opening or ending, including information from the original soundtrack;
4.d. Only films with at least 70% (seventy percent) of animation (any technique) will be accepted;
4.e. Will be accepted: works created with traditional or digital animation techniques, such as 2D, 3D, hybrid, stop-motion, and others to be evaluated by the curatorship;
4.f. The directors whose films are selected for the AnimaVerso authorize the use of excerpts and stills from the selected film for the production of publicity pieces such as images and/or videos to publicize the Festival, as well as the publication of these pieces on television, print media and/or the Internet;
4.g. The directors whose films are selected for the AnimaVerso authorize the films to be part of the Festival's collection, and may be selected through curatorship for exhibitions to promote the Festival throughout Brazil, with prior notification and authorization from the directors.

5. Online Registration

5.a. The registration for the AnimaVerso 2023 International Festival is open from August 1st to October 31, at 00:00h (BRT), on the FilmFreeway platform;
5.b. If the conditions for registration are not met as requested by this regulation,, the short film will be disqualified. Applications after the stipulated period will not be accepted;
5.c. The applicant may register more than one film in his/her name, but must submit a new application for each work;
5.d. Films must be submitted for evaluation by the selection committee, according to the category chosen by the director;
5.e. The official language of the AnimaVerso International Festival is Brazilian Portuguese. For subtitling purposes, when registering films produced in other languages, the participant must provide a time-coded text file (.srt or .txt) in English or Spanish, containing the dialogues, narration and music relevant to the understanding of the film. The exhibition makes the subtitles in Brazilian Portuguese of all foreign language films from the list of dialogues, with time-code, provided by the participant when registering.
5.f. The films submitted for selection must confirm that they have the exhibition rights for images and reproduction of the soundtrack of the film, for the purposes of exhibition in festivals and non-profit public exhibitions, exempting the Organization of the AnimaVerso International Festival from the payment of related rights for these exhibitions. By registering, those responsible declare to accept all the articles of this regulation, in addition to being legally responsible for their animation.

6. Criteria for selection, copies submission and material for exhibition

6.a. The selection criteria of the films, award categories and tributes are the exclusive responsibility of the AnimaVerso International Festival Curatorship.
6.b. The selected films official list will be publicly announced until October 16, 2023.
6.c. The directors of the selected films undertake to send to the Festival organization the download links of the digital file of their works for exhibition, in MP4 or MOV format, HD with h264 compression until November 7th;
6.d. Copies of selected films must be sent by October 31, 2023. The festival will receive copies online only through links.
6.e. Other promotional materials, such as posters and flyers, must be sent to the Festival organization within the same deadline of October 31st.
6.f. With the authorization of the registered person, all the information present in the registration form, as well as up to 30 seconds of images of the film (in stream system), can be published and shown on the Festival's website: https:// www.instagram.com/animaversofest and other websites.
6.g. The AnimaVerso Festival official email, where the materials will be sent is animaversofest@gmail.com. This official email will be used as a tool to answer questions and send the materials requested at the time of registration.
6.h. The objective of the festival together with the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC) is to promote completed and ongoing work by undergraduate and graduate students in animation who have attended this university since 2015.

7. Jury

The jury will be made up of animation, film and culture professionals, invited by the Festival organization, who will decide the winners of each award with supreme and autonomous decision.

8. Festival Awards

The AnimaVerso Festival criteria for awards are originality, aesthetics, the use of cinematographic language and pioneering in the different languages of animation;

* The Festival Organizing Committee will choose 3 (three) names to make up the Official Jury, these being art, film and audiovisual professionals, and who will be responsible for the technical, aesthetic and thematic analysis of the animations that will make up the Competitive Exhibition;

* The award for Best Animation – Popular Jury will be granted to the short film that receives the highest number of votes from the public present at the sessions of the Competitive Exhibition;

* Animaverso winners will receive a trophy for the awarded category. It will be the responsibility of each registrant, if he/she is not present on the day of the award ceremony, to bear the costs of sending the trophy by mail, if it is in the interest of the person responsible.

9. Schedule

* 31st of July – Presentation of the festival on the different platforms;

* August 1st – Registration opens;

* October 16 – Public announcement of the selected candidates;

* November 7th – Deadline for sending links to the selected short films for download;

* November 08 – Complete Program;

* December 4th to 6th, 2023 – First AnimaVerso International Festival

10. Final Considerations

When registering his/her work in this Festival, the director will be responsible for any mandatory registration for temporary participation in exhibitions and festivals, such as the film's Content Rating.

The resolution of each and every one of the issues related to copyright for the use of music and/or soundtrack, sound effects, image, voice, etc., in accordance with current legislation, is the sole and exclusive responsibility of the filmmakers, being responsible for making all the necessary documentation available to the inspection bodies and their authorities. At the time of registration, the applicant exempts the AnimaVerso International Festival, as well as its producers, directors and supporters, from any liability related to copyright, sound and image rights involved in the submitted film.

1. Objetivos

O FESTIVAL INTERNACIONAL ANIMAVERSO é um evento sem fins lucrativos de cunho social que conta com uma seleção de trabalhos para uma mostra competitiva com premiações para as diversas categorias. As animações podem ser de todos os gêneros, incluindo trabalhos de ficção, experimentais, documentários e videoclipes, nas suas respectivas categorias (curtas, longas e cinemáticas de videogame).

O objetivo do Festival Internacional AnimaVerso é promover e suscitar reflexões sobre o meio e o mercado de animação, difundindo obras realizadas em Santa Catarina, Brasil e no mundo.

2. Período

O Festival Internacional AnimaVerso será realizado de 04 a 06 de dezembro de 2023 no CIC em Florianópolis.

3. Organização

O Festival Internacional AnimaVerso é um evento inédito criado pelos irmãos Bustingorri, Iván e Jeremías Bustingorri no campo das animações. A convite temos parcerias com Lirous K’yo Fonseca Ávila, em colaboração com a ADEH - Associação em Defesa dos Direitos Humanos e a UFSC - Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina representada pela professora do curso de animação Mônica Stein.

4. Regulamento

Para se inscrever na seleção das Mostras do Festival, deverá se atender às seguintes exigências:

4.a. Curta-metragens devem ser finalizados em formato digital e terem duração máxima de 30 (trinta) minutos;
4.b. Poderão concorrer na Mostra Competitiva curta-metragens produções que foram finalizadas a partir de 2020 (exceto para alunos da UFSC);
4.c. Possuir créditos completos na abertura ou fechamento do curta, incluindo também dados da trilha sonora original ou de cedência para uso;
4.d. Serão aceitos somente filmes que contém pelo menos 70% (setenta por cento) de animação (de qualquer técnica).
4.e. Serão aceitas obras criadas de formas artesanais com técnicas de animações tradicionais ou digitais, podendo ser 2D, 3D, híbridas, stop-motion, dentre outras a serem avaliadas pela curadoria.
4.f. As/os realizadoras/es cujos filmes venham a ser selecionados para o AnimaVerso autorizam a utilização de trechos e stills do filme selecionado para produção de peças publicitárias em imagem e/ou vídeo para divulgação do Festival, bem como a veiculação dessas peças publicitárias na TV, mídias impressas e/ou Internet;
4.g. As/os realizadoras/es, cujos filmes venham a ser selecionados para o AnimaVerso, autorizam que os filmes integrem o acervo do Festival, podendo ser selecionados por meio de curadoria para mostras de divulgação do Festival em todo o território brasileiro, mediante comunicação prévia e autorização das/os realizadoras/es.

5. Inscrição Online

5.a. As inscrições para o Festival Internacional AnimaVerso 2022 estão abertas do dia 01 de agosto até o dia 10 de setembro, às 00hs (BRT), na plataforma FilmFreeway;
5.b. Caso as condições para inscrição não sejam atendidas como prevê este regulamento, o curta-metragem será desclassificado. Não serão aceitas inscrições fora do prazo estipulado;
5.c. A/o proponente poderá inscrever mais de um filme em seu nome, mas deverá efetuar uma nova inscrição para cada trabalho enviado;
5.d. Os filmes devem ser inscritos para a avaliação do comitê de seleção, de acordo com a categoria escolhida pelo realizador.
5.e. A língua oficial do Festival Internacional AnimaVerso é o português brasileiro. Para fins de legendagem, ao registrar filmes produzidos em outras línguas, o participante deve fornecer um arquivo de texto com time-code (.srt ou .txt) em inglês ou espanhol, contendo os diálogos, narração e músicas relevantes para a compreensão do trabalho. A Mostra realiza a legendagem em português brasileiro de todos os filmes em língua estrangeira a partir da lista de diálogos, com time-code, fornecido no ato da inscrição pelo participante.
5.f. Os filmes inscritos para a seleção devem assegurar que possuem os direitos de exibição de imagens e de execução de trilha sonora contida na obra, para fins de exibição em festivais e exibições públicas sem fins lucrativos, isentando a Organização do Festival Internacional AnimaVerso de pagamentos de direitos conexos em sua exibição.

6. Critérios de seleção e envio de cópias e material para exibição

6.a. Os critérios de escolha dos filmes, categorias de premiação e homenagens são de responsabilidade exclusiva da Curadoria do Festival Internacional AnimaVerso;
6.b. A lista oficial de filmes selecionados será divulgada publicamente até o dia 16 de outubro de 2023;
6.c. As/os realizadoras/es dos filmes selecionados se comprometem a enviar para a organização do Festival os links para download do arquivo de exibição de seus trabalhos no formato MP4 ou MOV em HD com compactação h264 até 7 de Novembro;
6.d. As cópias dos filmes selecionados deverão ser enviadas até o dia 31 de outubro de 2023. O festival irá receber as cópias por via on-line somente através de links;
6.e. Demais materiais promocionais, tais como posters e flyers para divulgação, deverão chegar à organização do Festival dentro da mesma data limite de 31 de outubro;
6.f. Com a autorização do candidato, todas as informações presentes na ficha de inscrição dos filmes selecionados, assim como até 30 segundos de imagens do filme (em sistema stream), poderão ser publicadas e exibidas através da página do Festival na Internet: https://www.instagram.com/animaversofest e outros sites;
6.g. O email oficial do festival AnimaVerso para onde serão mandados os materiais é animaversofest@gmail.com. O email oficial do festival será utilizado como uma ferramenta para tirar dúvidas e enviar os materiais solicitados no ato da inscrição;
6.h. A contrapartida do festival com a UFSC é de divulgarmos os trabalhos realizados e em andamento dos alunos de graduação e já formados em animação que passaram pela universidade desde 2015.

7. Júri

O júri será composto por profissionais de animação, cinema e cultura, convidados pela organização do Festival, que decidirão os prêmios com decisão suprema e autônoma.

8. Premiação do Festival

São critérios para a premiação na AnimaVerso Festival a originalidade, estética, o uso da linguagem cinematográfica e o pioneirismo na abordagem das diversas linguagens de animação;

* A Comissão Organizadora do Festival indicará 3 (três) nomes para compor o Júri Oficial, que será composto por profissionais da arte, do cinema e do audiovisual, que serão responsáveis pela análise técnica, estética e temática das animações que comporão a Mostra Competitiva;

* Também será concedido o prêmio de Melhor Animação – Júri Popular ao curta-metragem que receber o maior número de votos pelo público presente nas sessões da Mostra Competitiva;

* Os premiados no Animaverso receberão troféu nominado à categoria vencedora. Ficará a cargo de cada responsável pela inscrição, caso não esteja presente no dia da premiação, arcar com os custos de envio do troféu pelos Correios, caso seja de interesse do responsável.

9. Cronograma

* 31 de Julho – Apresentação do festival nas plataformas

* 01 de Agosto – Abertura das inscrições;

* 16 de Outubro – Divulgação pública dos selecionados;

* 07 de Novembro – Data limite para envio dos links dos curtas selecionados para download;

* 08 de Novembro – Programação Completa;

* 04 a 06 de Dezembro de 2023 – I Festival Internacional AnimaVerso

10. Disposições Finais

Ao inscrever sua obra neste Festival, a/o realizador/a estará responsável por todos os registros obrigatórios para exibição temporária em mostras e festivais, tais como de Classificação Indicativa da obra.

A regularização de toda e qualquer questão relativa aos direitos autorais de uso de música e/ou trilha sonora, de efeitos sonoros, de imagem, de voz, etc., em respeito a legislação vigente, é de responsabilidade única e exclusiva das/os realizadoras/es do filme, cabendo aos mesmos a responsabilidade por toda a documentação necessária para disponibilização junto a fiscalização e órgãos competentes. No ato da inscrição, o/a proponente exime o Festival Internacional AnimaVerso, bem como os produtores, realizadores e apoiadores do Festival, de quaisquer responsabilidades relativas aos direitos autorais, de som e imagem, envolvidos no filme inscrito.
