Frank Dzikunu, widely known as Angel FD, is the esteemed founder of Angel FD Animation. He is presently enrolled as a student at the University of Cape Coast, pursuing a degree in Actuarial Science. Frank's journey into the world of animation commenced when he took it upon himself to acquire the necessary skills at the age of 19, during his second year at Bompeh Senior High Technical School. Following his completion of secondary education in 2016, he secured employment as a foreman at Wangkang Ceramic Company Ltd, where he served diligently for three years.
During this period, Frank successfully created "The Dance, Most Original," a captivating short animation in which characters gracefully move to the melodious tunes of "Most Original" by Stonebwoy. In 2019, Frank secured admission into the University of Cape Coast to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in Actuarial Science. In his first academic year (level 100), he astutely crafted "Covid-19: The Fear of Death" and "Covid-19: Avoid Stigmatization," both animated works intended to raise awareness about the pressing issues surrounding the Covid-19 pandemic.
Progressing into his second academic year (level 200), Frank contributed his creative prowess to produce "Sad Story of Kojo." In the following year, 2022, he presented "If You Do Good, You Do for Yourself," a short animation meticulously designed to inspire, encourage, motivate, inform, and educate individuals about the importance of performing altruistic acts towards others.
Currently in his third academic year (level 300), Frank's latest masterpiece, "Kindness Right Back At You," poignantly conveys the significance of demonstrating kindness to strangers through the medium of a short film. Frank Dzikunu's artistic achievements have garnered him numerous accolades both locally and internationally, including recognition at the AMAA Startimes Short Film Festival, where he secured the prestigious position of first runner-up in 2022.
Frank endeavors to incorporate elements of his faith into his animations, often employing textual or video recordings to share the word of God.

Speaking at the Award ceremony, Peace Anyiam-Osigwe, Founder of AMAA said “I'm delighted with this initiative to reward our young filmmaker and happy with the synergy StarTimes is having with the movie industry. Filmmakers need to understand the process of filmmaking. We approached StarTimes for partnership and StarTimes is willing to help us nurture these resourceful people. “Over 500 entries were submitted while about 220 short films were selected for the screening. This shows the number of young people making marks across Africa. “We have to clear the stage for young and upcoming filmmakers. If we catch them young and structure them properly, it will help the growth of having better films being made along the way.” “The shortlisted films are still airing on ST Nollywood Plus on StarTimes and StarTimes-ON mobile app. If you have the opportunity, please watch them, so you will know what the young people are doing. There are a lot of topics that resonate with our daily lives. There are also little animations embedded too. So, I was quite impressed with what I saw,” Ms. Peace added.
