Director of BFI Funded 'Cuppa Chai', Amit is now developing her debut feature CROWN, as part of FILMONOMICS development programme. Her experience spans across formats from India’s earliest web series to critically acclaimed international films.
Amit Kaur is a Cambridge based film maker and director of BFI NETWORK and Film Hub South East funded short 'Cuppa Chai'.
She is developing her first feature CROWN and is part of Screenskills Funded FILMONOMICS Lab and US based RICKSHAW Lab.
Her first short film as an Assistant Director with Producer Ameenah Allen "The Road Home" was shortlisted for Oscar (2010) in the Best Short Film category. She has worked with filmmakers Mira Nair and Lydia Pilcher for the BBC Adaptation, A Suitable Boy.
As an Editor and Post Producer, Amit has worked on the critically acclaimed short film Raqs, commissioned by UK Asian Film Festival which focused on class divide through art. She also directed one of India's first web series, ' Life Sahi Hai' and has extensive experience in Indian Feature Films and Commercials primarily as a First Assistant Director and Post Producer.
Currently, she is working on a south asian music documentary supported by the National Lottery.
