Aldridge UTC Film Festival is a short film festival based in Media City UK, which champions the work of student filmmakers. The festival hopes to attract the work of student filmmakers from across the globe. We are in our second year of organising this event with last year's being for home grown talent from UTC@MediaCity UK.

We pride ourselves on discovering and championing emerging filmmakers allowing them access to networking with industry professionals. Here at UTC@MediaCityUK we aim to inspire and empower the young filmmakers of tomorrow, giving them a space to showcase their incredible work.

Patron of the Festival VFX producer Julie Nixon (Marvel's Black Widow & Doctor Who) says:

My Passion for Film and post production is simply to create beautiful images that can really challenge people's perception of the world we live in.

I believe it is so important to guide the new breed of artists as they navigate their way into this fantastic business, and that is why I will always support festivals such as Aldridge UTC Film Festival which I am honoured to be a part of. The young students I met in 2022 showed the passion and drive I love to see when looking for new talent'

Special guests in 2023 included VFX producer Julie Nixon (Marvel's Black Widow & Doctor Who), Jess Gallery (CBBC), Luke Walters (Cinescope pictures) as well as representatives from companies such as The Picture Shop, Timeline TV, Old Hall Films, Brand Advance, Cardinal-Films, Helix and Flix Post Production.
