This is without a doubt a festival that cares about filmmakers, with the goal of celebrating indie films and the people passionate about making them. Chicago is truly lucky to have this festival, and if you have a chance to go in person -- do it! The hard work that went into making it a professional and special experience was evident, and I was thrilled to be a part of it. This isn't a festival that gives you an award then charges you to pay for the trophy (and shipping...), passing costs onto the filmmakers. Instead, they put thought and care into not just the trophies (which are given to winners on the spot), but the selections made, choosing jurors, and even entertainment for the awards ceremony. Whether or not you win, everyone is appreciated and celebrated. Thank you Aladerri for the work and care you put into making your festival a great one!! :)
