INTERNATIONAL NARRATIVE, INTERNATIONAL DOCUMENTARY AND INTERNATIONAL ANIMATION COMPETITION REGULATIONS
1. Intro
The 5th Aigio International Short Film Festival will be held June 2026, in the city of Aigio, in the Region of Western Greece.
2. Eligibility
a) Eligible are fiction films,documentary films and animations completed between 2024 and 2026.
b) Each film must not exceed thirty (30) minutes of runtime in International Narrative, International Documentary and International Animation. Aigio International Film Festival reserves the right to accept longer films in exceptional cases.
c) Each director may participate in the Festival with only one (1) film, and shall declare the type of film (documentary, fiction, animation).
d) The final screening file must be available in h264 or MPEG4.
e) In case the movie does not have greek subtitles, a separate srt file of english subtitles is required. Greek language films must be accompanied by a separate srt file of English subtitles.
3. Entry Procedure
a) The film should be submitted via https://filmfreeway.com/AigioFilmFestivalTheodorosAngelopoulos.
b) Submission fee is 7 Euros per film.
All the submission fees are non-refundable.
c) Required material for the submission:
• The entry form duly filled.
• A preview screener uploaded through FilmFreeway’s online submission.
• One HD photo-still of the film.
• Poster of the film.
• Synopsis, Photo of the Director, Credits
d) Deadline for the submission is: March 31, 2026 (11:59 pm).
e) The submission of the film implies unconditional acceptance of the festival’s regulations.
f) The Aigio International Film Festival reserves the right to invite short films out of the above procedure in special cases.
4. Awards of International Competition
The Jury of the Festival consists of 3 members and awards the following Prizes (except the Audience Award):
- BEST FILM
- BEST DIRECTION (ONLY FOR INTERNATIONAL NARRATIVE)
- BEST SCREENPLAY (ONLY FOR INTERNATIONAL NARRATIVE)
- BEST CINEMATOGRAPHY (ONLY FOR INTERNATIONAL NARRATIVE)
- AUDIENCE AWARD
The Jury may also award other honorary distinctions for specific artistic achievements.
The selected films should be submitted at latest by April 30th, 2026 via a downloadable link.
NATIONAL STUDENT COMPETITION REGULATIONS
ΕΘΝΙΚΟ ΣΠΟΥΔΑΣΤΙΚΟ.
Οι ταινίες που θα συμμετέχουν στο διαγωνισμό του Εθνικού Σπουδαστικού Φεστιβάλ Ταινιών Μικρού Μήκους Αιγίου πρέπει να πληρούν τις εξής προϋποθέσεις:
α. Να έχουν ολοκληρωθεί ανάμεσα στο 2024 και το 2026.
β. Η τελική κόπια που θα προβληθεί στο Φεστιβάλ να είναι διαθέσιμη σε ένα από τα format που προβλέπονται στον παρόντα Κανονισμό για την κινηματογραφική προβολή.
γ. Κάθε κινηματογραφική σχολή συμμετέχει με όσες συμμετοχές επιθυμεί και ο κάθε σκηνοθέτης έχει δικαίωμα συμμετοχής στο Φεστιβάλ με μια (1) μόνο ταινία.
ε. Αποδεκτά είδη: ταινίες μυθοπλασίας, ταινίες τεκμηρίωσης, ταινίες κινουμένων σχεδίων, πειραματικές.
στ. Μέγιστη διάρκεια ταινίας: 20 λεπτά.
Η αίτηση συμμετοχής και ένα ψηφιακό αντίγραφο της ταινίας υποβάλλονται μέσω της ιστοσελίδας www.filmfreeway.com μέχρι τις 31 Μαρτίου 2026.
Διαδικασία και υλικό αίτησης συμμετοχής
Ο σκηνοθέτης ή παραγωγός των ταινιών που έχουν επιλεγεί για συμμετοχή στο φεστιβάλ οφείλει να αποστείλει έως τις 30 Απριλίου 2026 τα ακόλουθα:
α. Την αίτηση συμπληρωμένη σε όλα τα υποχρεωτικά πεδία.
γ. Ένα μη δημόσιο link του clean αρχείου της ταινίας (secure/ password protected link με δυνατότητα κατεβάσματος/download).
δ. Εάν η πρωτότυπη γλώσσα της ταινίας δεν είναι ελληνική, θα πρέπει να σταλούν ΣΥΓΧΡΟΝΙΣΜΕΝΟΙ αγγλικοί υπότιτλοι σε χωριστό αρχείο srt. Σε κάθε περίπτωση οι υπότιτλοι ΠΡΕΠΕΙ να είναι συγχρονισμένοι.
ε. Μία (1) τουλάχιστον φωτογραφία της ταινίας σε ηλεκτρονική μορφή (300dpi).

GENERAL TERMS (*for all Competitions)
a) Filmmakers are responsible for sorting out the copyright on their own materials.
b) The submitter is responsible for clearing rights and permissions concerning each submission. The festival holds no liability.
c) The pre-selection of the films is made by a group of professionals of cinema and/or the artistic/ cultural sector who are suggested to the Administrative Board by the Artistic Director, who also supervises their work.
d) The Final selection, programming, and any changes are proposed by the Artistic Director.
e) By submitting to us, you give us consent and right to screen your film in front of a live audience, and, under special circumstances, online screening.
f) Film excerpts that might be broadcast on television or the internet should not exceed the duration of 3 minutes or 10% of the total running time of the film.
g) The Festival reserves the right to publish film information.
h) We retain the right to change the date and venue of the festival under special circumstances. All filmmakers will be informed about any changes through email and our online platforms..
i) Any technical issues with the submitted films are 100% the responsibility of the filmmakers. If, at the time of judging, your video file doesn’t work or doesn’t have English subtitles (if in a language other than English), it will be automatically rejected, without a refund. Please contact the festival team ASAP if there are any issues with the submission process, and a solution will be found.
j) The languages of the festival are English and Greek.
k) We reserve the right to update our terms and conditions.
