1. General rules and sections
The 36th edition of the Aguilar Film Festival calls for the International Short Film Festival of Aguilar de Campoo 2024, which will be held in Aguilar de Campoo from November 29th to December 7th, 2024.
Participation is open to all Spanish and international short films produced and made from January 1st, 2022.
The duration cannot exceed 35 minutes (including credits).
All genres (fiction, animation, documentary, experimental), themes, and original production formats are accepted. Short films in competition must not have been submitted to previous calls for the festival.
The works will be presented by a person, organization, or company that holds the rights to them or legally represents them. The person submitting works to the competition will be responsible for paying the copyright fees generated by their works.
2. Online registration and fees
The registration period will open on March 15th, 2024, and close on September 17th, 2024.
To participate in the 36th Aguilar Film Festival, works must be registered through the
festival's official platforms:
www.filmfreeway.com
The following registration fees are established for participants to pay:
Regular Period: from March 15th to August 16th, 2024: €4
Extended Period: from August 17th to September 17th, 2024: €7
For the consideration of their works, participants will provide viewing copies of their works in the original version to the platforms. If the language of the works is different from Spanish, they will be presented with subtitles in this language or alternatively in English.
3. Selection
The Selection Committee, composed of professionals from the audiovisual arts world and the organization, will be responsible for selecting works for the various sections of the festival.
The organization will notify the final selection result by email to the contact person.
If a work is selected, the organization will contact the representative person to request all the necessary material.
The screening copy of the selected works will be sent within the deadline and in the manner requested by the organization. In any case, the shipment will be online. The screening format will be digital. The technical specifications are:
Container: .mov / mepg 4 H264 or Apple ProRes 442
Resolution: Full HD (1920×1080)
Audio: Stereo AAC
The screening copies of the selected works will be sent in the original version. If the language is different from Spanish, it will be presented with subtitles in this language or the dialogue list will be sent in English (preferably in .srt format).
The copies of the selected works may be used in limited screenings for the selection committee and in the Palmarés del Festival samples organized by the festival, always for cultural and non-profit purposes, subject to communication to the producers of the use made of them.
The selected films will be exhibited at the times and places specified in the program and
on the festival's official website (www.aguilarfilmfestival.es), assuming that the participants authorize these screenings from the moment of their registration in the Festival.
Explicit authorization will be requested for their online broadcast through the festival's official platforms in the event that they also opt for this modality. The acceptance of participation in an online format will not be mandatory to participate in the in-person version of the competition.
By registering a work and accepting these terms, the holders of the works selected to participate in competitive sections assign to the Festival the right to project said works—always for exclusively cultural and non-commercial purposes—over the following year and a half after the Festival, in various extraordinary activities held outside the official
week, whose purpose is the promotion of the festival.
In any case, these possible screenings will always be notified to the work holder and will always be free of charge for the public.
