This is one of the most unique film festivals in Europe which focuses in Film Monologues.
We really appreciate your presence in our festival. It is all about interconnection and direct contact with the audience. (If you intend to be present include it in your cover letter, or send us an email)

History of the place:
In the past Agrinio was the center of the ancient kingdom of Aetolia, the place where Queen Leda, mother of Helen of Troy was born.
We decided to keep a strong bond with this important part of history by naming our festival "Leda's Monologues".

All submitted films that meet our requirements and are selected participate in the contest.

The "Selected Films" will be screened live in Agrinio.
The "Best Films" which will get the highest score by our jury will be awarded.

Awards include:
"Best Short Film", "Best International Monologue", "Best Documentary", "Best Original Soundtrack" and "Best Script."
The "Audience Award" is an award given by the audience by voting which movie they liked best.

Winners receive a statuette of Leda, uniquely created by the artist Nefeli Ekati Katsarou. Also, they get a free entry code for the next edition of the festival.

"Out of competition" films, if selected, participate in the festival's online screener and some in the event's screenings.

"Finalists" & "Semi-Finalists" that won't make it to the final program can be screened in the online platform of the festival after the director's and producer's approval.

* All submissions are accepted exclusively via FilmFreeway.

* By submitting you agree that excerpts of your movie could be used for promotional purposes (festival's trailer, photos in articles etc)
You can change that, if you do not want it by mentioning so at any time.

* If you are submitting more than one entry, a separate submission is required for each film.

* Promoting violence in any form in the film is unacceptable.

I’m very happy that my film Mary Magdalene was selected and awarded at Leda’s Monologue Festival. Even though I couldn’t be there in person, the team made me feel like I was part of it all. There seems to be so much care and thoughtfulness behind the way they create this experience — I’m truly grateful to have been included.

Leda's Monologues is a real deal. The concept itself is quite original yet simple, resembling auto-ethnographic methods which certainly deserve more limelight in the world fraught with moving images that so often lack sincerity. George's efforts in running the festival are laudable. Can only recommend it!

    A wonderful experience!
Leda's Monologue is a 3-day film festival with public screenings and an award ceremony, held in the charming town of Agrinio in Western Greece. George and his team looked after us throughout the entire festival - organising transfers, accommodation, and even a lovely visit to the stunning Lake Trichonida, where we enjoyed a delicious meal (with vegan options!).

The festival has a warm, welcoming sense of community, bringing together participants from different countries to celebrate independent cinema and share their work.

A big thank you again to Leda’s Monologue Film Festival for awarding our film Best Soundtrack - it was a pleasure to be part of this year’s edition!
