November 11th: We are open for submissions for our 2020 film festival!

Join us for the 2nd annual Ag & Art Film Festival! The film festival is a celebration of agriculture and of art. Set in the agriculture town of Vacaville, California, this festival features films that have either agriculture or art as either a central theme or a big part of the overall film. We accept documentaries or narratives, shorts or features or web series. Vacaville is located a short drive from Napa Valley, San Francisco, and Sacramento.

The Ag & Art Film Festival celebrates agriculture & art through storytelling and cinema. The festival also connects festival goers to local farmers and local artists. Catered events feature chefs who utilize locally-sourced food and wine. Films screen at the state-of-the-art, DeVille Theatre in Downtown Vacaville, CA.

The 2nd annual Ag & Art Film Festival takes place September 10-13, 2020.

Last year, the Opening Night “Meet the Filmmakers” party took place at La Borgata Winery & Distillery in Pleasants Valley. The event was catered by La Borgata Italian Deli. Guests were greeted by alpacas on the red carpet! The party introduced the festival filmmakers to “ag and art” loving party guests. Vacaville painters, sculptures, and musicians were also a part of the art extravaganza. Two musical groups performed: an orchestra and a jazz band. Local painters and sculptors displayed their art around the winery.

Screenings took place all day Saturday and Sunday with Q&As with filmmakers and with breaks for lunch.

On Saturday evening, the Ag & Art Film Festival teamed up with Downtown Vacaville for a special, free for the community screening of “Biggest Little Farm” in Andrews Park.

Sunday morning, VIP Festival Pass holders joined filmmakers and local farmers for a casual yet stimulating conversation about agriculture and art over a farm breakfast at a farm in Pleasants Valley.

Sunday evening there was a Closing Night Party in Town Square in Downtown Vacaville.

The 2020 Ag & Art Film Festival details will be posted on the website as the date approaches.

I have been to a few festivals around the world at this stage and dealt with a lot more and what has been impressive about the people at Ag and Art festival is that it is so obvious that all involved are passionate about film and their beautiful little festival is all about celebrating film and filmmakers. The communication throughout has been top class and I would encourage anybody to support these guys because they are at the heart of Indi filmmaking. From little acorns grow great Oak's, well done all and the best of luck going forward.
