  • This is long overdue but after a year of film festival runs, myself and the crew would like to thank the Afro Latino Film Festival for selecting us as part of your program this year. It was honor to tell an Afro Latino story from an unlikely place like Tokyo, Japan and have the Afro Latino Film Festival accept us.

We are so thankful and humbled to the folks at the Afro-Latino Film Festival for their care and attention to our film, and for awarding us as the Best Documentary Short. The Afro-Latino Film Festival has our highest recommendations, the directors showed the care in the films they selected, and they were wonderfully curated. We are glad to have been a part of its inaugural festival! When we set-out to make this film, we didn’t even envision being in a single festival and are now thankful for the care and attention of folks like the Afro-Latino Film Festival. We hope to cooperate and collaborate again with the folks at the ALFF. The film, this award and collaboration are powerful reminders of the strength and resilience of Black communities. Thank you!
