Africa AI Creativity Week & Awards is an international platform dedicated to AI-powered creative expression, bringing together filmmakers, musicians and creators from Africa and around the world.

More than a festival, it is designed as a talent detection and opportunity-driven initiative, at the crossroads of creativity, technology and industry.

🌍 A Unique Ecosystem at the Heart of GITEX Africa Morocco

Africa AI Creativity Week & Awards takes place in Marrakech, during GITEX Africa, the largest technology and innovation event on the African continent.

By positioning creative AI within this ecosystem, the event bridges culture, technology and business, offering creators a unique context of visibility and exchange.

Selected films and creative projects will be:
showcased within the GITEX Africa environment,
and screened in partner projection spaces across the city.

This setting allows creators to present their work in front of a large professional audience, engage with companies and innovators, and explore new creative and professional opportunities beyond traditional festival circuits.

Africa AI Creativity Week & Awards aims to:

identify emerging creative voices using AI as a storytelling and creation tool,
connect talents with brands, companies, studios and institutions,
and highlight new creative skills aligned with the jobs and creative industries of the future.

The event positions creative AI as a value-creating skill, where artistic vision meets real-world applications in media, culture, marketing and innovation.

To strengthen this collective dynamic, we have invited partner festivals and creative platforms — including FEST'IA Awards, and AI Film Awards, to take part in this edition and help mobilize diverse creative communities.
Additional festivals and creative platforms are expected to join the initiative, further expanding its reach and network.

Awards & Prizes

Africa AI Creativity Week & Awards celebrates creative excellence, while offering visibility and meaningful opportunities for creators.

Selected works will be officially screened during the event, and outstanding projects will be recognized through curated awards highlighting:

creative vision and storytelling,
innovative use of AI tools,
cultural and creative impact.

Beyond artistic recognition, awarded and selected creators may benefit from:

media exposure through partner channels and platforms, including TV5MONDE and HIT Radio,

visibility on digital platforms and social media,
and potential connections with brands, companies and institutions interested in AI-driven creative profiles.

As the event approaches, additional prizes, collaborations and opportunities may be announced, as Africa AI Creativity Week is built as a living and evolving creative ecosystem.

Rules & Terms

🎬 What We Are Looking For
Africa AI Creativity Week & Awards welcomes AI-powered creative works, created on computer or smartphone, exploring new forms of storytelling through artificial intelligence.

Both 100% AI-generated projects and hybrid creations (combining AI with traditional production tools) are accepted.

⏱️ Format & Duration

We primarily focus on short creative works, allowing strong narrative, artistic and experimental expression.

Recommended duration: 3 to 8 minutes
Maximum duration: up to 10 minutes
Longer works may be considered on an exceptional basis, depending on artistic relevance and format.

🎥 Accepted Formats

We welcome a wide range of creative formats, including:
narrative and experimental films
animation and hybrid works
music and music videos
advertising, brand and marketing content
artistic, visual and audiovisual experimentation

Open to professionals, emerging talents and independent creators, from Africa and internationally.

Creative Themes (Optional & Open)

Free creative expression is fully encouraged.

In parallel, creators may explore inspirational themes reflecting African, diasporic and global cultures, as well as contemporary creative and popular movements.
These themes are optional and intended to inspire, not restrict, creativity.

📌 Content Guidelines

Africa AI Creativity Week & Awards is designed for public screenings within diverse cultural contexts, including international and African audiences.

Submitted works must be suitable for a broad audience and respectful of cultural sensitivities related to public exhibition.

For this reason, the following content will not be considered for selection or screening:

explicit sexual content or pornography,
content promoting hate, discrimination or extremism,
content intended to provoke or offend religious beliefs,
content incompatible with public, family-friendly screenings.

The selection committee reserves the right to exclude works that do not align with these guidelines or with the spirit of the event.

    My experience with AFRICA AI CREATIVITY WEEK & AWARDS – AI FILM & MUSIC FESTIVAL was very disappointing.

    First, we received a notification from FilmFreeway saying that our video was an “Award Winner.” Then, two days later, we received another notification saying that the same video was only a “Finalist.”

    When I asked how this was possible, Houda Lazaar replied that our video was currently a finalist and that the jury would later decide the winner. I was also asked to send a high-quality version of the video, which I did immediately.

    After that — nothing. I sent three follow-up emails asking for clarification and never received any response at all. Just silence.

    Very unprofessional communication and no respect for filmmakers or artists who submit their work . Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this festival.
