The Athens International Children’s Film Festival is an annual celebration of entertaining, thought-provoking, exciting storytelling aimed at the children and families of Athens. The festival aims to support and promote intelligent, creative film works for children, teenagers and their families from all corners of the world.

Traditionally a winter event, it offers two diverse programmes, one dedicated to families and one to schools, comprised of short and feature films and documentaries, either animated or live action, which broaden the horizons of young viewers and provide an understanding of other cultures, as well as a valuable exposure to filmmaking techniques, surprising ideas and worthy voices.

Festival screenings are accompanied by filmmaking workshops, discussions and other fun surprises for kids and their parents that are revealed gradually throughout the year. Additionally, the festival's school programme travels around Greece during the rest of the school year, giving the chance to children in even the most remote areas of the country to experience adventures in film and provide their own thoughts on crucial subjects.

The 7th edition of ATHICFF is currently scheduled to take place 18-24 November 2024 at select Athens venues and, at a later date, digitally.
