The ASCF Film Festival is a showcase dedicated to celebrating short films shot on celluloid film. We accept work from emerging and established filmmakers around the world.
Eligibility
Film Length: Maximum runtime is 15 minutes, including credits.
Format Requirement: All films must be shot entirely or predominantly on film (e.g., Super 8, 16mm, 35mm, 65mm)
Completion Date: Films must have been completed within the last year. (September 2024 - October 2025)
Language: Non-English films must include English subtitles.
Submission Format: Preview screeners must be submitted via FilmFreeway as a streamable link (no downloads required).
Exhibition Format
If selected, filmmakers will receive information to guide in uploading Prores422 or 444 files to us for exhibition.
Important Notes
No waivers are offered for submission fees.
Multiple entries are allowed, but each must be submitted separately with its own fee.
Rough cuts or works-in-progress are not accepted.
Submission fees are non-refundable, regardless of selection status.
The festival does not pay screening fees.
Selection & Notification
All films will be reviewed by a curated programming team.
Official Selections will be notified via email and posted on our FilmFreeway page.
Final selection and scheduling decisions are at the sole discretion of the festival.
Rights & Permissions
By submitting, you confirm that:
You own the rights or have secured the rights to all content in your film.
You grant the festival the right to use stills, trailer excerpts, and descriptions for promotional purposes (online and in print).
You understand that submission does not guarantee selection or screening.
