Terrible communication! I know this was their first year, but I have worked with other "first time festivals" and this was never an issue. Huge lack of communication and transparency about the process.
My project got an Official Selection and the only thing we received was a basic FilmFreeway status update email.
We waited for another email with more details, screening process or updates, and we got nothing. Their website was basic with no relevant information.
On the week of the festival I emailed them, asking if there was a list for the films that will make to live screening... I got a reply asking to keep checking the website and socials, but most of all: "Make sure to buy your tickets" - Which was $50 minimum btw, for a warehouse event with no proper movie theater. It was all about how much money they could make.
Not a good experience if you are looking for a real film festival experience.
