ALZA is a first-of-its-kind festival dedicated exclusively to vertical storytelling in New York City, Oct. 16-18, 2026.

As vertical storytelling continues to evolve, ALZA celebrates the creators shaping its future through bold, original stories designed for the vertical screen.

We're looking for micro and short-form storytelling created for the vertical screen. Projects should be conceived, shot, and produced for vertical viewing—not traditional films reformatted for mobile. We welcome micro-series, narrative shorts, documentaries, animation, branded entertainment, and experimental work that showcase originality, compelling storytelling, and thoughtful use of the vertical format.

Official Selections will be showcased during a three-day festival featuring premiere screenings, creator panels, industry conversations, audience experiences, networking events, red carpet moments, and an awards program celebrating excellence in vertical storytelling.

We look forward to discovering your work.

ALZA Festival honors exceptional achievement in vertical storytelling through a curated selection of Jury Awards recognizing excellence in artistic vision, storytelling, performance, and innovation.
