photography and book event, created with the goal to celebrate and promote mountain civilization with all its related activities, such as sport, climbing, adventure, tourism, ecology, education and economics.
AFF is the first and only International Mountain Film Festival in Romania, aiming to bring together a targeted audience of mountain, adventure, adrenaline and sport lovers.
Parallel sections of the festival are The ALPIN BOOK FESTIVAL and The ALPIN PHOTO FESTIVAL.
The mountain film tells the story of humankind’s struggle with nature and records the stunning beauty of the untamed mountain world. The mountain film uses this world as its backdrop or metaphor for narrating the story of the human confrontation with the unadulterated wilds.

The ALPIN FILM FESTIVAL Competiton is judged by a film and outdoor specialists from Romania end international guest : filmmakers, journalists, photographers, writers, .
The films are awarder by audience - People’s Choice.
Grand Prix and Best Romanian Film are prized with a special and original trophy.
Grand Prize and Category Awards are awarded with cash prizes.

The 11 th edition of the mountain film festival , ALPIN FILM FESTIVAL - Romania will take place in BRASOV , RASNOV end PREDEAL / 21 -26 september 2025 You are welcome to submit your films now through FilmFreeway

It is possible to submit films that:

- contribute to increasing knowledge and protecting the mountains and tablelands by highlighting their symbolic value and portraying their human, historic and social aspects;
- portray the most significant human, cultural and technical aspects of adventure in the context of mountaineering;
- promote environmental protection and sustainable development in the mountains;
pursue and promote knowledge of geographical areas, peoples and cultures;
- illustrate alpine sports, including the modern evolution of various disciplines.

The submitter declares that he or she holds all copy rights to the film. Additionally, the creator of the film declares that he or she holds necessary rights and has paid all relevant fees concerning music used in the film and all iconographic materials. The music licence needs to include also public presentations of the film.
The creators of the film bear all financial and legal responsibility for infringement of rights held by third parties. In the case of images of third parties being featured in the film, the creator of the film declares that he or she holds all required rights and received the permission to use the image of the person concerned.

  • Alpin Film Festival was a great experience despite the pandemics. A wonderful set-up in Brasov with tons of nearby locations (outdoor and indoor), great movie projections and also lots of activities (climbing, sailing). I recommend this festival for all sports & outdoor lovers!
