4:3 int’l short film festival is an non-profit film festival, which takes place in Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine.
the festival is dedicated to presenting current ukrainian & international film productions in 4:3 aspect ratio. the festival presents docs, fiction, animated and experimental films.
early bird deadline - May 31, 2022
late bird deadline - July 7, 2022
notification date - July 14, 2022
festival dates - August 11-14, 2022
the idea of holding the festival arose due to the vacuum of such initiatives in the city, as well as the desire to create a more "grassroots" than "official" event that would promote current Ukrainian and international cinema and would be free and open to local communities.
the festival will unite musicians, directors and art lovers in different city center locations.
4:3 int’l short film festival has two competition programs: ukrainian and international. the competition films will be evaluated by the jury and awarded with the main competition prize. each member of the jury can award one film with a special mention.
please, notice that there are no cash prizes, the winners of the main prizes will receive original trophies.
due to the russian invasion of Ukraine, we inform you that 50% of the funds raised from your film submission will be redirected to the local Ivano-Frankivsk Drama Theater Fund “Rukh Oporu”, which deals with urgent humanitarian issues in the region and the country as a whole.
the films eligible for the selection should meet the following criteria:
- 4:3 aspect ratio;
- completed after January 1, 2020;
- english subtitles;
- under 30’;
- we don’t accept music videos;
- we do accept student works;
- you can submit as many works as you want;
- feel free to request a waiver code if you can explain the reason for it;
- the person submitting the film gives their permission to screen the film during the festival and during other events promoting the festival arranged by the organiser.
